SUMMER mile in the woods just to get to an area and then start climbing up and over downed trees and walk around and through brush just to see if any are there. Much less, hunt for them like this for 2-3 hours and THEN walk back carrying the catch! However, much like his dad, he’s up to the chal-lenge and the rewards are GREAT! After getting to the area, we began ‘hunting’ and picking shrooms. I have to say it was fun coming to an area and seeing one, two, then three and more in an area. In one place there was so many I accidently stepped on two ‘big ones.’ The whole area was lit-tered with mushrooms. (On video too!) Vision Path is something that doesn’t mean any-thing to you right now. Most of us are clueless. (including me!) I only have an inkling on what will be going on this coming summer; but starting in June, I will be finding out all about ‘mapping’ and ‘messaging’ myself. When I get done, I will be more than willing to show and share it with anyone who’s interested. In the meantime, happy walleye fishing, gardening, swimming, skiing, camping, road-tripping, vacationing, and hanging out and enjoying the summer days on the lakes. Oh yeah… if you are going to be too busy this summer doing all the things listed above on the weekends and are unable to attend Sunday services, feel free to come and check out what will be hap-pening on Wednesday evenings starting at 7:00 PM. The first gathering will happen on Wednesday, June 6th starting at 7:00 PM. Let summer-time begin! En-joy and stay safe! God’s peace. Pastor Tim.
I thought I just wrote a Newsletter article!?! Swoosh! I’m back again. I’ve just returned from visit-ing our youngest son, Josiah, and his bride, Kate, in Sioux City, IA. We had fun acting like Millennials. We went to a craft beer distillery downtown and played board games. One day we bought and then brought our meal to the shop, ate it, and then played a board game. I must admit, this is not the “usual” moa for us, or at least myself. I usually end up playing games at home with the kids and friends, which we did, on Sunday, after church. Yahoo! I also went to the woods and hunted Morel mush-rooms. Yes, hunted. We looked for them. We found them. We bent over. We reached out. We pulled them up out of the ground. We put them in a mushroom bag and looked for more. We came. We hunted. We conquered. We went home carrying 75 shrooms! The next day, we ate some and then brought some home and shared them with friends. Vision Path - It’s what’s on the agenda for summer. Someone is coming to work with me and other minis-try leaders to help us map out how we can make an impact on the overall mission and ministry happening in and at Good Shepherd as well as out in the com-munity where we live, work, gather, and play. These next two steps will begin happening THIS June! It will continue into July and then August. As we took off to go hunting mushrooms we de-cided to go where Josiah had already found a good amount the previous week. On the way there I showed him another place and we spent some time there hunting but found zero. According to Josiah, he noted the ground was too soft. Now though, he has another place to ‘hunt’ mushrooms in the future. After spending time in a couple of more places while walking to his spot, we successfully hunted only a few. We then finally arrived as his “spot.” Josiah likes it because not too many people will walk over a

Zion School News
Submitted by: Karen Nolz
I Can NOT believe that another school year has come and gone. There are three students from Good Shepherd that will be done for the year and they are: Kyle Wink (finishing 2nd grade), Gabbie Rasset, (finishing 4th grade) and Marly Nolz (finishing the 7th grade . . and hoping, praying and keeping fingers crossed that she’ll be moving
on to the 8th grade!! )
Once again, this summer will offer free breakfast and lunches for children 18 and under. This is open to the community, not just Zion families. They start on June 7th and go until August 24th, (with the exception that July 4th-6th they will be closed). Breakfast is served from 8:00-9:00 and is $2.25 for those over 18 and lunch is from 11:30-1:00 and is only $4 for those over 18.
There are also several camp opportunities for the children in the community as well. These include: dance (June 18-21), Cheerleading (June 26-28), Science (July 18), Drama (July 16-19), Kids in the Kitchen (July 17-19), Fun and Games (July 23-27) and Girls and Boys Basketball Camp (July 30-Aug 3). For more information on times and costs, contact the school office at 763-4842.
There is also an AWESOME Accelerated Reading Pro-gram that is offered, and this is free. It is on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s from 10:30-12:30, starting June 19th and goes until August 8th. I cannot say enough good things about this particular program. In Marly’s earlier years, she strug-gled with reading and it was getting very frustrating for her and for me. I had to force her to go one summer and it was during that time that her reading “clicked” and to this day, she still enjoys reading.
I would like to personally thank Good Shepherd for the years of support that the church has shown towards the students at Zion. I feel there is a bit of pressure that is felt when you have child (ren) at Zion School and are members elsewhere. You feel that maybe you should be going to Zion Church since your child is enrolled in school there. From day one, I knew that Zion is Marly’s school and her church is Good Shepherd. Many times there are things scheduled on the same day, and we try and make Good Shepherd our first priority. And a special “Thank You” to the Mission Council for asking me to be on the
Zion School board to represent our church. It has been a great learning experience and I thank you for that opportunity.

Love INC Garage Sale
Submitted by: Joyce Hausmann
How would you describe God’s love? A touch? A feel-
ing? Happiness? Togetherness? God’s love was felt
and seen at the Love INC Garage Sale. There is no
doubt that God is in the middle of it.
This year’s annual garage sale was remarkable and in-
credible! We had the most donations ever. A good
portion of the donations came from individuals be-
cause of they were moving to different locations. I
mentioned to one of our donors that she was a bless-
ing to our garage sale for her donations. She said, “No.
You are more of a blessing to us by taking this because we are
moving our mother.”
Our volunteers were fantastic this year. God gave us
many volunteers who love to organize. I told them,
“Great! You are in the right place.” We received many
comments saying that it was the best organized garage
sale they had every been to. This year I do agree.
The garage sale was May 19 from 7 am to 3 pm. We
raised over $11,000 for Love INC. That was the most
ever. We don’t have an exact total yet.
During our set up days, the Sentence to Serve mem-
bers and some from Life Right came in and helped.
They all worked like a family, together. They felt con-
nected with others by doing something beyond them-
selves by helping others. They had to leave because
they had other commitments. However, they didn’t
want to leave. They wanted to stay. They felt God’s
love and it was hard to leave. They wanted to come
back and insisted they wanted to be back next year to
help!
One observer said that we had all kinds of walks of
life come through the doors on Saturday morning. I
never thought of it like that. There were children, to
those in their 80’s, many different nationalities and
were walking through the doors. It was incredible.
12.
If you have never attended the garage sale, I would
highly encourage you to do so next year, even if its
just to look. If you have never assisted in the set-up
of the garage sale, you don’t know what you are miss-
ing. God’s love, connection, camaraderie, laughing,
crying, and giving of one’s self to others is something
that is indescribable until you feel it.
We thank everyone who donated items, donated
their time and talents to help make the Love
INC Garage Sale an
AWESOME SUCCESS! Thank you.
