JOURNEY IN FAITH 2019 – 2020

sessions are led by Sr. Sylvia Swift.

‘Immaculate Conception’ Procession

Led By Bishop Robert Byrne Bishop Byrne will be leading A procession in honour of the Feast of the ‘Immaculate Conception’ at St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Hexham. Taking place on FRIDAY 6th DECEMBER at 7pm.

Last year we went to Hexham By coach but sadly, unlike previous years, the weather was very unkind to us. It would be lovely to support this event again this year and hopefully we will experience the torchlight Marian Procession from Hexham Park Band Stand. Please sign up a.s.a.p. on the list provided at the back of Church, so that I know what size coach to order. I would like numbers by 10th November, & there will be a small charge for the coach. Thanks very much, Fr. David.

CHRISTMAS FAYRE:

SUN 1st DEC 1.30pm

Will be held in St. Alban’s Offers of help will be most welcome.

A COLLECTION BOX

MEETING OF ALL STALLHOLDERS:

There will be a meeting for all stallholders on MONDAY 18th NOVEMBER at 7pm in the Church Meeting Room. Anyone who would like to help out at the Fayre will be most welcome. Thank you.

RAFFLE TICKETS are also now on sale at the back

of Church from Margaret Richardson.

November – remembering

all our dead: Though our loved ones who have gone

before us are never far from our thoughts and hearts, it is traditional

for us to remember them as a Church in November in a more focused way.

Therefore, we will be remembering all our dead and celebrating Mass for them on:

Wednesday 20th November at 7.00 pm. Whether you are recently bereaved, want to remember all of your

loved ones who have died, please feel welcome to come along, and welcome any friends, neighbours or

colleagues in a similar situation who you think may benefit from being at this Mass. There will be an

opportunity to chat in the hall after Mass over tea and coffee.

Christmas Memorial Candles. Donations of poinsettia

plants. Often the plants take a lot of time to keep watered

and can die very quickly. This year if you would still like to donate a poinsettia you can still do that. However, instead,

if you would like to remember your loved ones who have gone before you in a special way you can have a memorial candle lit in their name on Christmas Eve. The candles are

the same as the red sanctuary lamps we use that tell us Christ is present in the tabernacle. We will apply a label to each candle with your family member name or names, the

candle will burn for around seven days. Christmas time can be a very emotional time for people especially those recently bereaved. The candles make a beautiful sight especially during the first Mass of Christmas as well as decorating our church for Christmas they remind us of our loved ones. The seven-day memorial candles cost £5.00. So if you would like one then please put your £5.00 in an envelope with a piece of paper telling us the name of your loved one or loved ones and let us have that by the end of November so that we can order enough candles, just give

your envelope to Fr. David or post your envelope through the letterbox of Presbytery door. Thank you..

PARISH WEBSITE: Launching soon, if you have any

old photos of the ‘interior’ of the Church please see SIMON McGEE, thank you.

FOODBANK: Walker & District Foodbank continues to

need donations. Donation box at back of Church, thanks
