December Theme: Keeping Christ in Christmas

Praise the Lord and welcome to St John Baptist Church! On behalf of the entire St John family, al-low me to take this opportunity to thank our friends, guests & members for choosing to help us lift up the name of Jesus here today. We say to you who are unsaved, “Join Jesus!” To you who are seeking a church home, “Join us in member-ship”, as we seek to make disciples for Jesus Christ.

OUR VISION

To be “A Christ -

Centered Church,

Making a Difference

for Jesus Christ in the

Church, Community,

Home & Workplace.

OUR MISSION To be a thriving spiritual center that reaches people for Christ

and builds believers to be Christ-like. (Matthew 28:19-20; Jude 1:20-21)

We respectfully ask that no food or drink be brought or eaten in the sanctuary.

SJBC Image Policy - By entering this Church, you hereby grant St John Baptist Church the

◊ SJBC Question of the week ◊

“How would you describe the God you serve?” #SJBCTalks (Don’t forget to tweet your responses, like & share with your friends!)

◊ Highlights ◊

We thank all the Ministries for making Christmas Eve services so memorable. From the Parking Lot Ministry, to the Ushers, you made our guests feel welcome. From the Cathedral Choir, to the Voices of Inspiration, to the Praise Team, you lifted the name of Jesus through song. To the Dancers of Inspiration, your Sacred Arts presentation of the Birth of Christ was amazing. To all ministries including the Youth Ministry, Trustees and Deacons, thank you for bringing your “Gifts” to Jesus.

St John Baptist Church

What business are we in? To be a thriving spiritual center that reaches people for

Christ and builds believers to be Christ-like. Mt. 28: 19, 20; Jude 1:20, 21

Where are we going? To be a Christ-Centered Church, making a difference for Je-

sus Christ in the church, community, home and workplace. Romans 12:2; Acts 1:8

How do we get there? These notions are summarized and encapsulated by three

concise principles: discover, grow and engage.

Discover

Discover new ways to reach the unchurched.

Discover new ways to celebrate our history and remain relevant with the ministries

we provide.

Grow

Provide opportunities for people to learn God’s Word, how to serve and develop

their gifts and talents.

Engage

Assist members in getting involved in a ministry or membership cluster.

Provide outreach ministries that have a local and global impact.

Every Sunday, worshippers can bring burdens and concerns to the Lord in prayer. A Deacon will be available after each Sunday service to pray with you in the Prayer Room.

Reading the Bible in One Year

This year we encourage members to make a commitment to reading God’s word. We guarantee the more you read it, the more you will love it! You can access the plan by following these footprints: Visit stjohnbaptistchurch.org and scroll all the way to the bottom→Through the Bible in One Year→Bible in a Year

If you don’t have access to a computer, this week’s readings are Genesis 1—Genesis 18.
