DearFriends,Today’sGospelpassagebeginswithJesusexclaiming,"Igivepraisetoyou,Father,Lordofheavenandearth,

What ismore, theywereexpectedtoobserveeveryoneofthem. Only religious legal experts could possibly do that. The majority of people would be dismissed as simply“ignorantsinners”andexcluded.
ButJesustellsusthattheso-calledexpertshavegotitwrong.Hehascometoremovethecrushing,impossible,burden of somany petty rules and regulations. To each of us he says, “Come tome all youwho labor and over-burdened,andIwillgiveyourest.”Jesusoffersthose,whowouldbedismissedasignorantandunimportant,freedomfromtryingtocarrysuchanimpossibleburden;nowtheyandwe,canrestintheLord,inahappinesswhichhadseemedimpossible.
Jesusgoesontosay,“Myyokeiseasy, myburdenlight.” Thatremovesanycomplacencywemayfeel.Wecan'tyetsitbackandrelax.FollowingJesusisdemanding and at times difficult. Baking for Education
This is Courtney Cassidy, a sophomore in high school and a former student at OLV. I recently created a page on JustGiving.com titled Baking for Education. I created this page so I could sell my homemade desserts and donate the proceeds to the Mercy Education Project. The Mercy Education Project provides tutoring, educational summer camps, and literacy
programs that prepare girls and women in Detroit for college and joining the workforce. I’m very grateful for my education at OLV and my current school, Cranbrook. My goal is to help other girls in Detroit receive similar educational opportunities. Also, my friend Eliza Thayer who is a junior at Divine Child High School has been helping me with Baking for Education. Together we have been developing recipes, marketing, and packaging to ensure the success of our fundraiser. All this information and more is on my fundraising page on JustGiving.com. We will start baking this week, so place your order today! The menu and ordering instructions can be found at: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bakingforeducation.
Thank you, Courtney Cassidy
