Baking for Education

This is Courtney Cassidy, a sophomore in high school and a former student at OLV. I recently created a page on JustGiving.com titled Baking for Education. I created this page so I could sell my homemade desserts and donate the proceeds to the Mercy Education Project. The Mercy Education Project provides tutoring, educational summer camps, and literacy

programs that prepare girls and women in Detroit for college and joining the workforce. I’m very grateful for my education at OLV and my current school, Cranbrook. My goal is to help other girls in Detroit receive similar educational opportunities. Also, my friend Eliza Thayer who is a junior at Divine Child High School has been helping me with Baking for Education. Together we have been developing recipes, marketing, and packaging to ensure the success of our fundraiser. All this information and more is on my fundraising page on JustGiving.com. We will start baking this week, so place your order today! The menu and ordering instructions can be found at: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bakingforeducation.

Thank you, Courtney Cassidy

In today’s Gospel (Matthew 11:25-30) we hear Jesus say: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.”

For those of you who chose SVdP’s Camp Ozanam for your Lenten Almsgiving this year, we want to THANK YOU for your generosity and provide you with an update. As with many social activates this

year the 2020 Camp Ozanam program was cancelled. However know that your donations are providing much needed financial

support for maintenance of the camp facilities in preparation for the 2021 Camp Ozanam program.

If you are interested in joining OLV’s SVdP Ministry and would like to learn more about it, please leave your name and contact information on the OLV SVdP Hotline at (248) 349-2622 or e-mail to: [email protected] and a Vincentian will contact you.
