Suomen Maastorakentajat is a reliable and re-sponsible infrastructure builder from Finland. Over the years we have executed several dozens of demanding building sites ranging from water power plants to industrial buildings and from subterranean parking facilities to bridges.

We have made a strategic decision to expand our

scope of services to the wind power sector. The construction know-how we have cultivated for al-most thirty years is now at the disposal of wind farm developers. Maastorakentajat was the EPC contractor of Pajukoski wind farm project in Ylivieska. Our delivery at Pajukoski included both design and ex-ecution of infrastructure ranging from excavation to concrete construction and electrical cabling. The gravitation foundations supporting the 137 meter tall towers were massive concrete structures. Over 30 kilometers of subterranean cabling was installed and almost 8 kilometers of new and improved roads were built for the maintenance network. The substation and main transformer were also included in our delivery.

Superb management skills

Maastorakentajat had over 120 professionals from 40 different subcontractors working at the site. Work in Ylivieska continued without interruptions during winter 2014–2015 and the project was de-

livered to end customers Taaleritehdas and recon-cept on schedule in October 2015. Both praised our project management and problem solving skills as well as our uncompromised attitude towards work safety and quality control issues.

Expertise construction

Construction methods perfected at Pajukoski soon attracted new wind farm ventures for Maastoraken-tajat. We were chosen to build turbine foundations at two large-scale sites on the west coast of Finland, the Tohkoja wind farm in Kalajoki and Metsälä wind farm near Kristiinankaupunki. In total our delivery consists of 56 foundations.

In the upcoming years our goal is to seek addition-al growth from Sweden and Norway and to estab-lish our position among the strongest infrastructure builders in the Nordic region.
