Supplier Recognition The NEW Supplier Recognition Program A special recognition program for Cargill Salt and Cargill Deicing Technology suppliers. Salt and Deicing Technology business units insist upon providing excellent service to our customers. As stated in Strategic Intent 2015, “Customer Focus” is one of the key focus areas for Cargill. Within our business units, we realize that delighting our customers is key to running a profitable business. While the drive for service quality begins with the employees of Cargill, our performance is also dependant upon our ability to partner with suppliers that share in our passion for excellence. Our suppliers are a crucial link to successfully executing our business strat- egy in support of our corporate goal of being the “supplier of choice” to our customers. We are fortunate to work with many suppliers that are commit- ted to maintaining a partnership with Cargill to assist in delivering profitable and innovative solutions and service to our customers. To continue to create a business environment where our suppliers feel compelled to continuously deliver value to Cargill, we are implementing a new program to adequately recognize them for their contribution to our businesses. Announcing our NEW “Cargill Salt and Cargill Deicing Technology Supplier Recognition Program”…recognizing select external supplier companies and representatives!

The NEW Supplier Recognition Program

A special recognition program for Cargill Salt and

Cargill Deicing Technology suppliers.

Salt and Deicing Technology business units insist upon providing excellent

service to our customers. As stated in Strategic Intent 2015, “Customer

Focus” is one of the key focus areas for Cargill. Within our business units,

we realize that delighting our customers is key to running a profitable

business. While the drive for service quality begins with the employees of

Cargill, our performance is also dependant upon our ability to partner with

suppliers that share in our passion for excellence.

Our suppliers are a crucial link to successfully executing our business strat-

egy in support of our corporate goal of being the “supplier of choice” to our

customers. We are fortunate to work with many suppliers that are commit-

ted to maintaining a partnership with Cargill to assist in delivering profitable

and innovative solutions and service to our customers.

To continue to create a business environment where our suppliers feel

compelled to continuously deliver value to Cargill, we are implementing a

new program to adequately recognize them for their contribution to our

businesses.

Announcing our NEW “Cargill Salt and Cargill Deicing Technology Supplier

Recognition Program”…recognizing select external supplier companies and

representatives!

Program objectives:• Continue to leverage supplier strengths to support our corporate Strategic Intent 2015• Engage suppliers in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with our organizational values• Create an environment where our supply partners feel compelled to deliver value to our business and are adequately recognized for their contributions• Provide a forum for internal stakeholders to share their positive experiences with our suppliers

Program specifics:• Program period: calendar year 2008• Three award categories: - Innovation - Supplier of the Year - Exceptional Service• An announcement seeking nominations will be communicated in October 2008• Cross-function team will review nominations and make the final selections• Recognition dinner and awards ceremony in Minneapolis, February 2009

Awards:

Innovation (Company recognition)Key Driver: Our organization values innovation and encourages our suppliers to partner with us to create innova-tive solutions that drive profitability for Cargill, Cargill’s customers, and our supply partners. We will present this award only when warranted. We do not expect a qualifying supplier for this award each year.

Award criteria:The Supplier:• Innovates to positively impact our customers• Provides revenue growth or cost savings for Cargill. Helps create shared value• Offers moderate to high customization of products and services to Cargill• Solicits Cargill’s input regarding product/service design and direction• Offers Cargill right of first refusal on new, innovative ideas for products/services• Received positive performance feedback from our internal stakeholders (performance review aligned with other BUs). Internal survey will be conducted to collect feedback• Has no outstanding legal issues around the innovation. Cargill may be able to apply for patent• Sustains innovation to provide a long-term benefit to Cargill

Nominations will be accepted from the following groups:• Procurement Leadership Team• Sales• Marketing• Strategic Growth• IT

Supplier of the Year (Company recognition)Key Driver: We value service excellence and solutions-oriented supply partners. These suppliers are a crucial link to successfully executing our business strategy and supporting us in our goal to be the ‘supplier of choice’ to our customers. We will present this award to one supplier annually.

The NEW Supplier Recognition Program

Award criteria:The Supplier:• Has entered into a written supply agreement (contract) with Cargill• Has demonstrated a long term approach to our relationship and is committed to value-added initiatives• Demonstrates significant value in Cargill’s 4 drivers: - Engaged employees - Satisfied customers - Profitable Growth - Enriched communities• Frequently provides industry news, new technology in products/services, and market intelligence.• Provides a moderate to high customization of products/services to our business unit. And, actively seeks Cargill’s input regarding direction for products/services• Contributes to a safe working environment at Cargill• Has positive working relationships inside our business unit based on an internal survey of stakeholders• Does not have negative performance issues with other Cargill business units

Nominations will be accepted from any Salt or Deicing Technology employee

Exceptional Service (Individual recognition)Key Driver: We value those supplier representatives that go above and beyond to service our account. They serve as our advocates within their organizations to align their internal resources with our needs to deliver exceptional service to our business. Their efforts lead to engaged Cargill employees, increased profitability for our business and assist us in providing exceptional service to our customers. We will present this award to one inside or outside sales representative annually.

Award Criteria:The Supplier representative:• Provides professional, responsive and proactive service• Provides value beyond the transaction derived from industry expertise, industry contacts and influence within their organization• Submitted ideas to take cost out of our system and proactively works with our employees to put ideas into action• Maintains solid relationships with key end users. Frequently provides information about their industry and products/services• Developed an enterprise-level awareness at the site(s) they service. Examples include: Educating the sites on their company’s relationship with Cargill on a broader scale and helping drive best practices• Developed a high level of integration at the site(s) they service• Demonstrated category expertise in the products/services they provide• Contributed towards a safe working environment at Cargill facilities that they serve

Nominations will be solicited from anyone in the business unit
