Strengthening capacities to implement Sub-national action plans for MDGs Acceleration (Rencana Aksi Daerah/RAD)

Supporting the Secretariat to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Action Plans in 33 provinces.

Working with Sub-national governments to develop financing mechanisms.

How it Works

• An MDG Acceleration Framework (MAF) specific to maternal mortality was piloted in Central Java.

• Use of MAF extended to eight other provinces with approximately 80 000 000 people.

Support the government to expand the use of MDG Acceleration Framework to reduce maternal mortality in nine priority provinces and 64 districts

Expand the use of available tools to address challenges on other lagging MDGs.
