Why is a green building code

important?

Scope of the IGCC• Will apply to traditional commercial and high

performance buildings• Consistent and coordinated with the ICC family of

Codes & Standards• Applicable to the construction of buildings, structures,

and systems, including alterations and additions• Residential portions of buildings, except institutional,
