Blood Donation Programme

Blood donation programme was conducted by college N.S.S Units, principal Dr .R.

Saraswathi, N.S.S. P.O.s and 20 staff members involved in this programme and total 210

students participated this programme.

Collection of donations for Hudood cyclone victims

College N.S.S and N.C.C wings were collected donations for Hudood cyclone victims.

College principal Dr. R. Saraswathi, N.S.S. P.O.s and N.C.C. ANO and 20 staff members,

N.C.C. cadets, N.S.S. Volunteers and 180 students actively participated in this activity

N.S.S Day Celebration

On 24-09-2014 college N.S.S. units celebrated N.S.S. Day. Principal Dr. R. Saraswathi,

N.S.S POs, 25 staff members and 250 N.S.S. volunteers participated in this programme

World’s AIDS Day Celebration

0n 01-12-2014 college N.S.S. Units organized AIDS awareness rally. College principal Dr. R.

Saraswathi inaugurated the programme. College N.S.S. POs and 20 staff members attended.

N.S.S. volunteers, N.C.C. cadets and 230 students participated.

Tree Plantation Programme

On 08-01-2015 tree plantation programme was conducted at college premises. College

principal Dr. R. Saraswathi, N.S.S. P.O.s, and 20 staff members attended. 80 N.S.S

volunteers and N.C.C. cadets attended.100 saplings planted at college premises.

National Library Week Celebrations

From 14-11-2014 To 20-11-2014

First Day : Inauguration: (14-11-2014)

On the accusation of “National Library week celebrations” from 14-11-2014 to 20-11-2014

in India, library week celebrations has been started on 14-11-2014 in S.V.A Govt. Degree College,

Srikalahasti, organized by Dr.Nayakanti Maddaiah, Librarian, Central Library. The inaugural function

has preceded by Dr.R.Saraswati, Principal,SVA GDC,Srikalahasti and Dr.Vijaysree, Prinicipal, Govt.

Degree College, Kuppam has invited as Chief Guest to deliver the inaugural message.

As precedes message by Dr.R.Saraswati, Principal,S.V.A Govt.Degree College(M),

Srikalahasti, she suggested to students to increase the reading habit by the students for their career

development. Chief guest of the inaugural function Dr.Vijayasree, Principal, Govt. Degree College,

Kuppam has delivered inaugural speech books will play vital role in the every person career

especially to the students to develop and become the good citizens of the India. She also stated that

there is no substitute in the world to the book to acquire the knowledge to the people. In view of this

she has motivated the students to read the books and more utilization of the library resources.

Lecturers Sri. M.Prasada Rao, Dr.S. Meera Saheb, Dr.P.Eswar Kumar, Sri A. Radhaiah, Dr.M.

Pankaja, Smt. Padmalatha, Dr.V.Munaiah and other lecturers and students are participated in the

inaugural function

Second Day : Essay Writing Competition: (15-11-2014)

Topic : Role of the Library in the Present Society ; Need of the Hour ( Telugu Medium and

English Medium)

In second day Essay writing Completions is conducted to the students on the topic of

“Role of the Library in the Present Society ; Need of the Hour (Telugu Medium and

English Medium)” . Sixteen students are participated in essay writing completions,

Dr.Nayaknati Maddaiah, Lecturer in Library Science has conducted the competititon and

Dr.R.Saraswati, Principal has visited competitive exam hall followed by the lecturers Sri. M.

Prasada Rao, Sri.A.Radhaiah, Sri. K. Venkateswarlu Naidu, Sri. Srinivaslu Reddy,

Dr.V.Munaiah, Dr.P.Maheswari, Sri. Sriramulu, Smt. Rushma and others.

The Principal has nominated a committee to judge the prizes for essay writing

competitions with the members of Dr.Nayakanti Maddaiah, Lecturer in Library Science,

Dr.T.Ramachandra Reddy, Lecturer in Telugu, Sri. K.Venkateswarlu Naidu, Lecturer in

Economics, Dr.S.Meera Saheb and Sri. M.Vishnu Prakash. The committee has selected three

names for prizes after examining of essay writing papers and the prizes are goes to first prize

P.Srinivasulu, III B.Sc (MPC), Second prize S.Ramya II B.Sc (BZC), third prize

K.Lakshmi Devi, III-B.Sc (MPC) and all participants are got consolation prizes. Some

Third Day : Library Extension Services ( Visti to Sunnapu Harijanawada, Srikalahasti) : (16-11-2014)

On the occasion of “National Library week Celebrations” the library committe has

resolved to extent the library services to the poor unemployed youth in the Srikalahasthi

urban andrural area. In this connection Dr.Nayakati Maddaiah, Lecturer in Library Science

has visited the very backward area of the srikalahasti town i.e “ Sunnapu Harijanawad” he

met the unemployed youth who are living in the “Sunnapu Harijanawada” . He explained to

them SVA Degree College Central Library is providing services to the poor unemployed

youth for their better career and to get employement.

Fourth Day : Elocution Competition (17-11-2014)

In fourth day Elecution Completions is conducted to the students on the topic of

“ Book : Its Importance” (Telugu Medium and English Medium)” . Six students are

participated in Elecution completions, Dr.Nayaknati Maddaiah, Lecturer in Library Science

has conducted the competition. and Dr.R.Saraswati, Principal has visited elocution.

The Principal has nominated a committee to judge the prizes for essay writing

competitions with the members of Dr.Nayakanti Maddaiah, Lecturer in Library Science,

Dr.T.Ramachandra Reddy, Lecturer in Telugu, Sri. K.Venkateswarlu Naidu, Lecturer in

Economics, Dr.S.Meera Saheb and Sri. M.Vishnu Prakash. The committee has selected three

names for prizes after completion of elocution competions and the prizes are goes to first

prize Mr. P.Naveen Kumar, Second prize C.Siva Kumar III MPCS, third prize

M.Priya – II BZC and all participants are got consolation prizes. Some elocution

Fifth Day : Book Exihibition by Visalandra Book House, Tirupati

(18-11-2014) On the occasion of National Library week Celebration “Book Exhibition” is

conducted in the College Premises on 19-11-2014 by Visalandra Book Huse (Mobile Library),

Tirupati along with exhibiting rare library collection of Central Library, SVAGDC (M),

Srikalahasti. All Staff and students are participated in this book exhibition very enthuastically.

This book exhibition was inaugurated by Dr.T.Ramachandra Reddy, Lecturer in Telugu,

SVGDC(M), Srikalhasti and Senate member of the S.V.University, Tirupati.

Sixth Day : Knowledge Tour ( S.V. University Library and Oriental Research Institute Libray, Tirupati, SVETA Library, TTD, Tirupati) (19-11-2014) On sixth day of 19-11-2014 “Knowledge Tour” is conducted to the First year students. The purpose of the Knowledge tour is to show the good libraries to the students and to create the awareness on the utilization of the library resources. Twenty students from first year are come forward to come to the knowledge tour. On this knowledge tour occasion the students are visited to the S.V.University Library, Tirupati, SVETA (Sri Venkateswra Employees Training Academy) Library, Tiriupati and ORI (Oriental Research Institue) Library
