Want to know a secret?

All you need is a pair of denim shorts, a measuring cup, a bucket (or a sink) and a bottle of clothing dye color of you choice.

Start by rinsing your shorts with water. A bottle of RIT liquid dye amounts to 1 cup; you’ll dye your shorts with the lightest shade first and darkest shade last. Pour 1/3 of the cup of dye into 2 gallons of hot water and mix. When dyeing dark denim, you will want to use less water for a darker dye. Dip your wet shorts about halfway into the dye and let sit for approximately 10 minutes

Ring out the excess dye and add another 1/3 cup of dye to your bucket. Dip your shorts about 1/3 of the way down and hold for 5 minutes, creating your 2nd tier of darker color. Repeat the step one more time by adding the final 1/3 cup of dye to your batch and only dipping the tip of your shorts in the darkest shade of dye

The secret is

DIP-DYE!

Lips

Nudes

In keeping up with the current makeup trend of nude makeup, nude and pale lip color is a great way to top off a nude face. The easiest way to wear a nude or pale lip color is to wear a lip-gloss. Typically pale lip- glosses go on shiny with just a hint of color. I

The secret to a nude lip is to wear it lightly. Don’t apply it too heavily. It won’t look like darker colors when you put it on so if you’re used to wearing dark lipstick, it may take some getting used to. Once you master the nude lip color, you will have a wider variety of looks at your disposal.

Brights

This is a trend that I don’t have any direct experience with so I decided to share a video from the lovely folks over at About.com. If you’ve never checked out that site, it’s like an expert portal to a whole host of topics. In fact, you can subscribe to the different channels and receive email updates and everything. But before you go web surfing, take a moment and check out this video on how to wear a bright red lip. It’s fairly simple and I would suggest you follow these steps to keep your bright, red pout looking neat and clean.

Also, as fall is swiftly approaching, this video tutorial can be used for any bright, bold lipstick color. Don’t be afraid to brighten up your lips on smooth on a bold color. Just follow these tips to ensure that your lips stay clean and polished through out the day.

Eyes Before you begin applying your makeup for the smoky eye, you need to know exactly what it is you need to create the perfect and sexy smoky eye. * Eye Shadows - Make sure you have at least 3 shades of the same family of color. For the smoky eye look, it's better to use dark colors like black, browns, blue or any color you prefer. * Eye Lash Curler - This is an important tool, make sure to curl your lashes before applying the makeup. This will allow your eyes to open up and look more alert. * Eye Liner - Eye liners can be pencil or liquid, which ever you prefer, but the pencil tend to work better with the smoky eyes. * Flat Shadow Brush, Smudge Brush and a Blender Brush - These brushes are they key tools for the smokey look. Each one is essential for the eye shadow application and for smudging the eye liners. * Mascara - I like to use black mascara, but you can choose the one you prefer.

Nailed It! Listen up all you non-"nail people" – all of you crackled, decaled, intricate design-resisting holdouts – now's the time to polish up your act. The shades and creations on the spring 2012 runways will miraculously transform your nails into your new favorite accessory – even if you keep everything else quiet and reserved.

Traffic stoppersBold, creamy colors of the rainbow are a must for anyone looking to make a big statement in a small space. Tip: Bronzed-skin ladies, this trend is perfect for you! Your skin tone looks best with neon colors or anything bright.

New nudesClear and nude nail polishes are always in style, but this season, expect to see a modern twist with lots of pale, glossy, and sparkly shades that look fit for a ballerina. Think light grays, sheer whites, pale pinks, and creamy soft beiges. Tip: Keep light polishes from spreading unevenly by using a base coat, which creates a guide for the polish and grips the lacquer to the nail. Colors you'd find in a garden. Cuticles and get rid of dark or light stains this trend could leave behind.

flair for fabricIf it's worth putting on your clothes, it's worth putting on your nails. From bold racing stripes to graffiti-inspired scenes, fun patterns are showing up all over nails this season – some hand-painted, some courtesy of Minx. Tip: Patience is a virtue, especially when it comes to intricate details. Polish really needs to dry for a couple of hours before it's completely dent-free, so resist the urge to dig into anything that could potentially mess up your handiwork before the two-hour mark.

Instant clarityLucite – usually seen in furniture and jewelry – makes for a futuristic sensation on nails. Look for clear acrylic tips sporting metallic accessories or lacy patterns. Tip: Don't let ragged cuticles compete for attention. Keep cuticle oil with you at all times.
