Coming events in and around the San Diego Swing Dance Club
Join us every Sunday afternoon, promptly at 3 pm, for a basic west coast swing dance lesson, followed at 4 pm by open dancing until 6:30 pm
May 7th: Wear Red, White and Blue - celebrate birthdays with cake and a drawing for free dance passes. Basic Instruction at 3pm every week with Lloyd Lickert May 14th Happy Mothers Day—Dancing starts at 4pm due to the Elk’s Mother’s Day Brunch May 27th : Spring Fling 5 to 10 pm

A Few Words From Our President
Again your Board of Director’s year is almost over and the good part is we had another fabulous year! We got many new members – a big thanks goes out to all of you who brought in your friends & family to join us. We had lots of Sundays filled with fun activities, super workshops, and great music from our DJ’s that kept our floor full. We even had larger attendance – 100 or
more many Sundays in a row. Keep up the good work guys!
Wow – the Hustle Performance was a big success – everyone enjoyed the very talented group and we saw a lot of good moves. Thanks Trish Connery Walkup for bringing them to our club.
On the first Sunday - 7th of May we will be having a VOTE FOR YOUR
NEW BOARD by the raising of hands after the names have been read to all the members in attendance. Please join us and be part of this important Sunday.
Don’t forget – get your tickets for our 47th Anniversary Dinner Dance to
be held on Saturday May 27th. Bob Pomeroy is selling tickets and you
do not want to miss out on this big event. We will be having a live band and a buffet dinner and a great evening with our friends.
On Mother’s Day – Sunday May 14th – there will be no beginner’s class
due to the Elk’s having a longer Brunch to celebrate Mother’s day in the dining room. We will start dancing at 4:00 p.m. and finish around 6:30 – so come and enjoy the afternoon.
We can still use some more volunteers to learn how to be a DJ, sell opportunity tickets for a short time each Sunday, and always help in setting up and taking down. Be part of this great club that keeps going year after year. Thanks to our volunteers and our loyal members. If you feel you need some training – We can do it! Love you all – See you at the club!

With the help of Jim Bounds taught us the five basic steps of west coast swing, adding in a few extra embellishments.
Our snack lady, Jan Gleason makes delicious snacks every Sunday. This bunny was another one of her creations, which was enjoyed by all on Easter Sunday.

Lloyd Lickert taught a workshop on April 30th focusing on variations of whips and half whips.
About SDSDC:
The San Diego Swing Dance Club is a private, non-profit
organization. Its specific and primary purposes are to enjoy,
promote, preserve, encourage, and teach West Coast Swing.
Members receive discounts to weekly dances and special
events and each issue of Swing Times newsletter. Club colors
are red, white and blue and the first Sunday of each month is
red, white and blue day. Wear the Club colors and be entered
into a drawing for a free admission pass. If you haven’t been
to the Club dances in a while, stop by soon so you can
continue to enjoy the dancing, fun, and friendliness that
makes SDSDC so special. One free admission to first-timers
