HOW DOES IT WORK?

We are an architecture firm with an international focus and head office in Barcelona .

We have developed architecture projects, works and planning in the private and public spheres, with the aim of providing technology and innovation in the field of construction and sustainability.

The studio was founded in 1986, with two architects: Felipe Pich-Aguilera Baurier and Teresa Batlle Pagès.

In 2012, a new phase began for the firm, were “new generation” architects joined the firm. The current period is formed by the founding architects.Teresa Batlle and Felipe Pich-Aguilera and partners: Jordi París and Jordi Camps

Therefore, two related companies constitute the studio: Pich-Aguilera arquitectos, S.L and Pibarquitecturasix, S.L.P. Both together, in order to open up to international market, present themselves as Picharchitects/Pich-Aguilera.

with physicists, interact with each other on matters

such as climatology, the environment and natural

resources –sun, materials, water, vegetation, waste,

etc.–in order to shape spaces and define systems

Sustainable architecture and positive energy buildings

With more than thirty years of experience in research and development in architecture, we add value to buildings through the parameters that are more advanced sustainable systems, both at an energy, architectural, environmental, functional, economic and social and throughout the entire life cycle of the building.

We have verified that new construction and comprehensive renovations can provide this value without increasing promotion costs, reducing 30% construction deadlines and reducing operating costs of the buildings.

We have a specific department specialized in energy, PICHenergy, which develops energy-efficient projects and which collaborates with the administrations for the improvement of buildings and cities at an energy and environmental level.

We have published books and magazines such as the Building Guide to Almost Zero Consumption in 2017 for the Catalan Institute of Energy of the Generalitat de Catalunya, monographs on the work of the office with the Actar and TC editions Cuadernos and publications specialized in sustainable and industrial architecture.

Our work has been awarded on different occasions, such as in Munich in 2001 where we received the award for technological innovation in the BAU fair, the Building Challenge Award in Tokyo in 2003, The Award Environmental protection of the Environment of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the A + Award for sustainable architecture in 2010, the award NAN for the best energy integration in a building, the Illa Eficient award for the conversion of a block in the Eixample of Barcelona in 2015 and the Award for the Best Sustainable Public Building in Spain granted by the Government of Castilla y León.

2.200 m2 This school is located by the famous Escola Teresianes Gaudí. The purpose was to build a pavilion on a pre-exis-ting basketball court, so that a structure would fit the class pavilion. The ceramic textile façade protects from the sun and integrates with the previous buildings, but in a contemporary way.
