Silo bags from Zill are specially manufactured from 100 % high quality virgin HDPE. The combination of latest weaving technology and Zill’s quality controls ensure a regular weave, a high UV-stability, a high slide resistance of the fabric and therefore a long and useful life.

They provide reliable protection for the edges of silos. By placing the silo bags every 5 metres crosswise, the silage protection cover is fixed and an extra weight is obtained.

Special silo varnishes

by Zill – professional protection varnish for silos

Silo-bitumen primeris a special priming for green fodder containers, potato ensilage pits, drinking water receptacles and slurry silos on a bitumen basis. Suffices for 200 – 300 ml/m² with good adherence and depth anchorage.

Silo-quick silo varnish blackis a ready to use, bitumen based, solvent-containingvarnish for silos. Specially for the protection of open silos storing corn and green forage.This special bitumen-based varnish can be applied by painting, rolling or spraying. It is resistant to diluted al-kaline solutions and acids. New silos are to be provided with a prime varnish of silo bitumen, followed by3 coatings with bitumen silo varnish. With regard to si-los for biogas plants, it is recommended that a triple silo bitumen varnish with bitumen hardener be applied after the prime coating. Coverage in accordance to theground: approx. 200-300 ml/m²

Silo-quick special floor varnish blackhas an improved elasticity and adhesion through special additives. Thus, the coating can stand even heavy duty wear of the silo floor.

Bitumen hardeneris a chemically hardening reactive component con-taining a solvent, which activates bitumen varnishessuch as the bitumen silo varnish.This accelerates the drying and hardening time, the stability of the bitumen varnishings is increased around

threefold and the protection against acid is improved as well as it prevents an adhesion of the silage. The bitu-men varnish is intensively mixed with bitumen hardener in a ratio of 3 parts bitumen varnish by volume to 1 part bitumen hardener.

Silo-quick Silo varnish greenis a ready to use, 1-component, non-solvent/food-grade protective coating on a modified acrylic-poly-mer basis, containing no bitumen and tar, fungicide (with an additive against mould) and anti-corrosive, water-dilutible, silk matt. Can be applied to the inside and outside of old and new silos, especially mobile silos, manure boxes, milking kitchens, stable walls, water troughs, facades, industrial property, etc. Also it adheres to all standard substrates such as concrete (as regards the inner coating of concrete, it is to be ensured that the outer surfaces are insulated against water as there is otherwise a risk of it coming off on the inside), plaster, masonry, timber, bitumen, etc., application to metal is possible after a corrosion pro-tection varnish has been applied.

Please request and use instructions at every silage painting!

Varnish roller setconsists of two 25 cm rollers (suitable for use with bitumen), a handle and a grid. A telescopic rod (115-200 cm)is also available in order to facilitate the painting of greater heights.

Verarbeitung: Bitumen-Siloanstrich wird gebrauchsfertig geliefert und von unten nach oben gestrichen, gewalzt oder mit Airlessgerät gespritzt. Der Untergrund muss tragfähig, nicht abmehlend oder absandend, sauber und trocken sein, Beschädigungen sind auszubessern. Glatte, dichte Betonfl ächen unbedingt anrauen (sandstrahlen) oder absäuern (verdünnte Salzsäure). Gründlich abwaschen! Geputzte Wandfl ächen nicht glätten, sondern abreiben. Voraussetzung für die nachfolgende Beschichtung ist ein feingriffi ger Untergrund. Geschliffene Wände/Böden sind für eine Beschichtung ungeeignet.Bei Neusilos ist ein Silo-Bitumen-Voranstrich aufzubringen, danach folgen 3 Anstriche mit Bitumen-Siloanstrich.

Bei Silos für Bio-Gasanlagen empfi ehlt sich nach dem Voranstrich einen 3-fachen Anstrich Bitumen-Siloanstrich mit Bitumenhärter aufzubringen.

Bereits gestrichene Silos porentief reinigen. Zum jährlichen Nachstreichen reicht in der Regel ein Folgeanstrich. Jeden Anstrich gut durchtrocknen lassen (mind. 24 Stunden). Bis zum Befüllen des Silos mindestens 10-14 Tage warten. Die optimale Verarbeitungstemperatur beträgt +15° bis +25°C. Zu große Hitze und Sonneneinstrahlung kann zu Blasen-bildung führen. Bei Kälte wird der Anstrich zähfl üssig. Bei unzureichender Belüftung in geschlossenen Räumen oder Behältern ist ein Atemschutzgerät zu tragen. Wesentlich längere Trockenzeiten beachten (Zwangsbelüftung erfor-derlich). Nur im Außenbereich verwenden.

DIN-Normen sowie einschlägige Vorschriften beachten, be-sonders die Vorgaben und Sicherheitsmaßnahmen der BG-Bau, Berufsgenossenschaft der Bauwirtschaft zum Umgang mit lösungsmittelhaltigen Anstrichen sind einzuhalten.

PolyTex® grain protection – optimal protection for your stored grain

Hygienic regulations require that stored grain has to be protect-ed against pollution from birds, dust and other material.

THE SOLUTION: Pollution from birds, foreign dust and other material (disrupted fluorescent lamps) will be absorbed safely by the fleece and can not get in the grain. PolyTex is permeable to air and due to this it is breathable – at the lower side it does not develop any condensed water and the ventilation of the grain is not affected. The air permeability is approx. 1800 liter/dm2 and minute at a pressure of 200 pascal.

Woodchip protection cover An excellent, cost effective possibility to protect woodchips against all weathers. PolyTex® protective cover is previous to air, water repellent, tear-resistant and considerably less sensitive to wind than films or tarpaulins. The fleece largely drains off the rain along its surface and keeps the woodchips dry. Because of its ability to respire, the included moisture inside the woodchips can dry off. Also the high UV-stability and thus the life expectancy is considerably higher than with films or tarpaulins.

For the best fastening the cover is weighted down with Zill silo bags. Furthermore, PolyTex® protective cover works perfectly as a composting sheet or to protect other agricultural commodities.

Result: PolyTex® keeps down the moisture content of the woodchips to a minimum in order to gain an optimum energy yield.

The ground cover fabric consists of braided PP tapes. The fabricis especially suitable for use against weeds due to deprivation of sunlight but it nevertheless is water-permeable.

Garden and greenhouse: the marking stripes provide for an exact positioning of each of the plants. The fabric is also often posi-tioned on paths between individual plants due to its stability, it thereby keeping them free from weeds.
