Multiple Loyalty Programs on a Reservation

The SynXis CRS Loyalty Program functionality has been enhanced to better support chains and hotels that wish to promote programs made available to their guests. The new features provide a robust and flexible way of loading and assigning programs to chains, brands, and hotels and enhances how they are presented to the guests during their shopping experience.

Loyalty Programs now support five program types and allow guests to select one or more programs to accrue points through their reservations. This functionality can be deployed partially or as a whole to serve a chain’s loyalty program strategy. Individual hotels may even run their own hotel level loyalty program.

Configure in Administration > Chain > Chain Administration

To enable the new Loyalty Program functionality, choose “Enable Loyalty Program Level Assignments”. Loyalty Program assignments benefit chains and hotel groups where different programs are supported across various hotels. Once this attribute is enabled, an assignment option displays while creating a Loyalty Program. The Level selection applies the following logic:

Chain Program displays to all hotels

Brand Allows program to be assigned to brands. Program displays to all hotels in the selected brand(s)

Hotel Allows program to be assigned to hotels. Program displays to all selected hotels. Hotels can also be removed from the program.

To enable the new Loyalty Program functionality, choose “Enable Loyalty Program Types. When enabled, Loyalty Program Types display as an option while creating new or editing existing loyalty programs. One Loyalty Program Type is assigned to each Loyalty Program.

Loyalty Program Types further enhances how loyalty programs are presented to guests and stored on the guest profile and reservations. They are more specific and affect how information is shared on the Guest Connect Booking Engine, Mobile Booking Engine, and Voice Agent display where the available programs are separated by type.

SynXis CRS Release Notes Q4 2104

© Copyright 2014, Sabre Hospitality Solutions, Confidential & Proprietary 3

For Loyalty Programs created where the Loyalty Program Type is set to Airline, the 2 digit code is checked against the GDS airline codes.

Loyalty Program Types are also shown on the Guest and Booker Profiles.

Configure in Administration > Hotel > Hotel Administration

Within a SynXis CRS Chain, hotels may selectively support the addition of more than one loyalty program eligible to accrue points per reservation. Choose “Enable Multiple Loyalty Programs” to control whether the hotel can use this functionality. When enabled, reservations made in Guest Connect Booking Engine, Mobile Booking Engine, and Voice Agent can select from one to five loyalty programs for points accrual—one per type.

Using Program Types Assignment, hotels can determine which Loyalty Program Types the hotels support so that guests are offered only the applicable Loyalty Program Types the hotel offers. The default setting will be that all Loyalty Program Types are selected and the user will be allowed to deselect or select one to all of the Loyalty Program Types supported by the hotel.

Loyalty program information is maintained in bulk profile data imports and exports and also displayed in detail on the Reservation Details page.

To allow multiple loyalty programs on a reservation, the chain must support Loyalty Program Types and the Hotel must support Multiple Loyalty Programs.

ARI Centric Daily Manager

Configure in Manage > Availability > Daily Manager

The recently launched Daily Manager has been further enhanced to support an ARI centric view for users who prefer a different view and approach to managing their availability, rates and inventory. The ARI centric view can be enabled through the Preferences screen within the Daily Manager page.

With an ARI centric view, users see supported stay restrictions in Daily Manager as the section headers with the selected room types listed within, thus allowing for quick edits across multiple room types.

To further enhance the revenue management capabilities, Total Hotel Sell Threshold has been added as a supported stay restriction.

Allow Rooming List Bookings without a Guarantee

Configure in Manage > Groups > Rooming List

Room charges in group blocks are often guaranteed and paid by a master account, thus not requiring the guest to provide a guarantee method at the time of booking. To accommodate this common business practice, Rooming List Import functionality will no longer require individual reservations to have a credit card number and expiration listed.

When uploading a rooming list, reservations with no credit cards will pass validation and be successfully created if other there no other fields requiring review.

At release, see this Control Center Help topic for additional information:

GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS (GDS)

Amadeus Direct Connect

Amadeus shopping and booking transactions will now go direct to Amadeus, eliminating the need to be routed through an intermediary switch provider.

SynXis CRS Release Notes Q4 2104

© Copyright 2014, Sabre Hospitality Solutions, Confidential & Proprietary 11

Amadeus joins Sabre and Travelport as the 3rd and final milestone in our GDS direct connect strategy bypassing, Pegasus altogether. The first chain migrated to the Amadeus direct connection in 4Q 2014. Migration of the remaining chains is scheduled to start in January and be completed in the first half of 2015.

The Amadeus Direct Connect utilizes XML formatted messages, replacing old and cumbersome EDIFACT message formats. This new foundation continues to establish Sabre Hospitality to be a leader in technology as an early adopter of GDS direct connects and allows us to continue to take advantage of new technologies with GDS companies as they make them available on their new platforms. In addition to the newer technology foundation, the Amadeus Direct Connect also provides key features and benefits such as:

Email delivery of type B notifications (reject messages).

Crib and rollaway charges now displayed in the rates rules and on the sell. This information will be retained on the bookings in the CRS.

Eliminated a point of failure associated with using a third party intermediary switch provider.

ELECTRONIC DISTRIBUTION

Default Travel Industry ID for Reservations Via Channel Connect

Hoteliers can assign chain level IDs in Administration > Chain > Commissionable Accounts

Hoteliers can assign the IDs to each OTA by going to Setup > Channels > Channel Connect > Setup

Hoteliers can assign a default Travel Industry ID (IATA, TIDS, etc…) to each OTA channel that they use through the CRS. This allows them to track and report on OTA production and commissions in the CRS or in their PMS.

In the SynXis CRS, hoteliers can assign a default Travel Industry ID to each OTA channel. Reservations originating from the OTA can be populated with the default ID to facilitate reporting and commission payment on the reservation. Each OTA is configurable to allow the following options:

Never use default Travel Agency number on a reservation.

Always use default Travel Agency number on a reservation.

Use default Travel Agency number only when no Travel Agency number has been included on the reservation from the OTA.

The IDs that are available for use are those that exist among global commissionable accounts (IATA & TIDS) and any chain specific commissionable accounts the hotel is using.

When the ID is assigned to the reservation, the corresponding agent information populates on the reservation and included on the reservation down to the hotel PMS.

Hoteliers must use Travel Industry IDs that are a part of a global industry organization or have been created in the CRS in Administration > Chain > Commissionable Accounts

Alternate Name on Channel Connect Reservations

Hoteliers will be able to search for and see Alternate Names in Manage > Reservations > Search Reservations

Guests that use names that are in a language that requires double byte character encoding (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) can provide their name in addition to a single byte name when booking with certain Online Travel Agents. This allows hotels to identify the guest by either name in the CRS or in their PMS.

Channel Connect API can now support an additional guest name on a guest profile. This allows guests to provide both single and double byte names on the profile so they can be identified by either name. Some languages (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) require double byte encoding.

This addresses a problem for some hoteliers that want to store the guest’s double byte name on a reservation. It should be noted that the guest must also provide a single byte name for the alternate name to be present. Many PMS systems are not able to store a primary name in double byte characters.

The functionality uses the PersonName element in the reservation message. The profile can support multiple PersonName values, so the identification of the alternate name is handled with the PersonName@NameType=”3” attribute and value. In the event that the attribute or NameType value is not sent on the PersonName, the first name to appear in the message is used and any subsequent names will be ignored. If no PersonName is included, the reservation will fail.

For the double byte name to be considered as the Alternate Name, it needs to be identified as the Alternate name using the PersonName@NameType=”3” and a primary PersonName must be included. The Alternate Name is stored in a specific field and passed to the hotel Property Management System in a supported field.

<Profile>

<Customer>

<PersonName>

<GivenName>Mark</GivenName>

<Surname>Jones</Surname>

</PersonName>

<PersonName NameType="3">

<GivenName>マーク</GivenName>

<Surname>ジョーンズ</Surname>

</PersonName>

</Customer>

</Profile>

Alternate Name functionality only works with partners that support the functionality. The first partner for this functionality has been identified as Elong, subject to certification.

Length of Stay Pricing for Generic ARI

Hoteliers that use BAR by Length of Stay Pricing will enjoy greater price parity across a wider selection of OTA channels with the addition of LOS pricing through the Generic ARI interface.

Use of LOS Pricing is subject to the certification and support by the individual OTAs of that pricing model. LOS pricing is typically used in conjunction with a revenue management system.

SynXis CRS Release Notes Q4 2104

© Copyright 2014, Sabre Hospitality Solutions, Confidential & Proprietary 13

Hotels that use BAR by LOS pricing currently have the ability to apply LOS Pricing to OTAs that shop availability using the Channel Connect API or with an ARI push interface to Booking.com and Expedia. With the support of LOS Pricing for Generic ARI, a wider number of channels can take advantage of that same functionality. The result is price parity across a broader number of channels.

Example: The KING room supports up to two guests. The hotel charges $100 before tax for a one night stay for

one and two guests. Note that on the two night stay the hotel is charging the same rate per night, but the message

is showing the total value for the two nights.

LOS Pricing supports up to 8 nights LOS. Occupancy based pricing is for up to 5 guests.

Hotels must be configured to deliver LOS pricing for each channel that supports it.

By default, Day of Week pricing will be sent. Hotel must be configured to send LOS Pricing to individual channels.

Full Pattern Length of Stay (FPLOS) for Generic ARI

Hotels that use LOS Pricing with Generic ARI will gain added control of availability with the addition of Full Pattern Length of Stay restrictions. FPLOS takes several arrival based restrictions from the CRS and applies them to individual Lengths of Stay for an arrival date. This provides greater parity across channels that support a more accurate view of hotel availability.

FPLOS is used in conjunction with LOS Pricing. Hotel must be enabled for LOS Pricing on a per channel basis.

The Generic ARI interface is adding support for Full Pattern Length of Stay (FPLOS). FPLOS takes the following CRS restrictions into account to determine when a particular Length of Stay will be available for an arrival date.

No Arrival

Minimum Stay Arrival

Maximum Stay Arrival

Minumim Stay Through

Maximum Stay Through

By applying these restrictions, the valid lengths of stay for an arrival date can be identified and the unavailable dates can be restricted.

An example of how these restrictions would be used in FPLOS:

For the arrival date of July 1st, there is a minimum stay arrival of 2 nights and a maximum stay though of 5 nights.

Hoteliers that use LOS Pricing with Expedia are able to deliver rates for up to 5 guests. This expands the number of rooms and occupancies that can be sold on the Expedia site.

Hotels that use LOS Pricing with the Direct Connect to Expedia are now be able to provide rates for up to 5 guests, when rate configuration and room occupancy levels allow.

PROPERTY INTEGRATION Alternate Name in Property Integration

This enhancement is being delivered in tandem with the “Alternate Name on Channel Connect Reservations” enhancement previously mentioned.

This enhancement only applies to OXI and HTNG Reservation Delivery/Sync & OXI and OTA Profile Sync.

Hotels that use channels that support alternate names (see “Alternate Name on Channel Connect Reservations”) will be able to deliver this information to their PMS. This allows hotels to leverage additional data to provide a better guest experience. In some cases, this enhancement also provides the ability to manage alternate names in the CRS by incorporating updates via Profile Sync and Reservation Sync.

Integrated properties should be aware that the messaging format can dictate slightly different behaviors.

OXI Reservation Delivery/Sync and Profile Sync

Alternate names (given and surnames) will be integrated using the <mfNationalName> element.

When profile has the following information:

Primary Last Name = Jones Primary First Name = Mark

Alternate Last Name = ジョーンズ

Alternate First Name = マーク

Integration message is populated with the following:

<Profile>

<IndividualName> <nameFirst>Mark</nameFirst> <nameSur>Jones</nameSur>

</IndividualName> <mfNationalName>

<nameFirst>マーク</nameFirst>

<nameLast>ジョーンズ</nameLast>

</mfNationalName>

</Profile>

Specifically for OXI Reservation and Profile Sync - When first or last name element is not included or is included has no value, no update made to CRS. These values are preserved in the CRS, similar to how the Primary Names are handled through OXI.

HTNG Reservation Delivery/Sync, OTA Profile Sync Create, Modify and Read

Alternate names (given and surnames) will be integrated using the a separate PersonName element with NameType=”3” within the Customer element

When profile has the following information:

Primary Name Prefix = Mr. Primary Last Name = Jones Primary Middle Initial = T Primary First Name = Mark

Alternate Last Name = ジョーンズ

Alternate First Name = マーク

SynXis CRS Release Notes Q4 2104

© Copyright 2014, Sabre Hospitality Solutions, Confidential & Proprietary 23

Message is populated with the following:

<Profile> <Customer>

<PersonName> <NamePrefix>Mr.</NamePrefix> <GivenName>Mark</GivenName> <MiddleName>T</MiddleName> <Surname>Jones</Surname>

</PersonName> <PersonName NameType=”3”>

<GivenName>マーク</GivenName>

<Surname>ジョーンズ</Surname>

</PersonName> </Customer>

</Profile>

Specific to HTNG Reservation Sync and OTA Profile Sync Create/Modify - If the attribute is included in the message with no value, then it will delete values in the SynXis CRS.

i.e. Receiving: <Profile>

<Customer> <PersonName>

<NamePrefix>Mr.</NamePrefix> <GivenName>Mark</GivenName> <MiddleName>T</MiddleName> <Surname>Jones</Surname>

</PersonName> <PersonName NameType=”3”>

<GivenName>マーク</GivenName>

<Surname></Surname> </PersonName>

</Customer> </Profile>

Results in:

Primary Name Prefix = Mr. Primary Last Name = Jones Primary Middle Initial = T Primary First Name = Mark Alternate Last Name = (blank)

Alternate First Name = マーク

If the attribute is not included in the message, then the existing value in SynXis remains.

i.e. Starting in the CRS with:

Primary Name Prefix = Mr. Primary Last Name = Jones Primary Middle Initial = T Primary First Name = Mark

Alternate Last Name = ジョーンズ

Alternate First Name = マーク

Receiving:

<Profile> <Customer>

<PersonName> <NamePrefix>Mr.</NamePrefix> <GivenName>Mark</GivenName> <MiddleName>T</MiddleName> <Surname>Jones</Surname>

</PersonName> <PersonName NameType=”3”>

<GivenName>マーク</GivenName>

</PersonName> </Customer>

</Profile>

Results in:

Primary Name Prefix = Mr. Primary Last Name = Jones Primary Middle Initial = T Primary First Name = Mark

Alternate Last Name = ジョーンズ

Alternate First Name = マーク

By default, this behavior will be active upon this release.

Certification is required

Configured Rates Report

In order to address performance with the Configured Rates Report, this report has been redesigned to consider the inputs on a rate configuration, as opposed to calculating the rate during the period described. Changes include:

Derived and Derived-from-Derived Rates display configured settings on choice of calculation (amount or percent), the value assigned and the rounding rule, along with floor and ceiling price definitions.

Monthly Rates disply the configuration for the ceiling and floor price and the required days stay.

Room Supplement configured on the Room Type or in the Room Price Adjustment page is displayed, rather than factoring this value into the rate.

Rate Override indicators are no longer included.

Promotional configuration is no longer available through this report. Please refer to the Promotional Configuration Report for this information. If you have subscriptions to the Configured Rates Report to return promotional information, please re-subscribe under the Promotional Configuration Report.

Occupancy offset display is an option when running this report. The default includes Occupancy Offset. For more efficient performance, please exclude this data when not needed.
