LEXCONNECTS SERVICESWhat Are Connector Routes?LexTran Connector (Connector) service provides trips to customers throughout the outlying areas of LexTran’s fixed route and is designed to make it possible for people to make connections between our fixed route services.

How To Book Your RideIn order to be certain of a ride, requested trips must be made by 5:00 p.m. the day prior to the requested ride. Trips may be booked by calling 859-225-2669. Trips may also be booked on the same day with a minimum 90 minute notice. The maximum advance for reservations is two weeks. Reservations are on a “first come” basis.

Senior Shopping BusThis service is designed to meet the special needs of senior citizens. Included in this route are 14 local senior housing complexes and shopping centers.

Nicholasville Rd. Night Shift Job BusLexTran can make it much easier for employees to get to and from work during hours when normal bus service is not available. Perfect for night and early morning shift workers

LexTran Job bus service is a subscription transit service for individuals who work late night shifts and live within a LexTran fixed route. Approved riders are picked up at a bus stop nearest their home with minutes of specified times and delivered to a designated stop near their work destination.

LexTran approves applications based on their matches to other applicants needs. Priority is given to reservations on the basis of number of trips requested per week and the ability to combine trips with others requested. Applications can be obtained from your supervisor/human resources manager and must be completed and returned to the same.

BIKE ‘N RIDEIn an effort to make our Buses even more flexible for public needs LexTran is now offering the Bike ‘n Ride Program. Through this service you can have the flexibility of a bicycle, and the safety and comfort of a bus ride across the busy Lexington city streets. This program can be especially beneficial for University of Kentucky students needing to get around campus and around town! Best of all, every one of LexTran’s buses is equipped with a bike rack. This means you’ll never have to keep track of which stop has it!

Instructions:1. Hold bike with one hand, and lower rack with the other.2. Lift bike into one of the racks wheel wells.3. Pull out the racks support arm, positioning it over the

bikes front tire. Then board the bus!4. To unload the bike, lift up on the rack support arm and

lift bike out of wheel well to curb.

WEATHER & TRAFFICOccasionally weather, road or traffic conditions may cause schedule or route changes. The Government Access Channel and local radio and television stations will make announcement when buses switch to snow routes. ID CardsPhoto ID cards may be obtained at the Transit Center on Vine St., Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. for a $5.00 charge. Proof of age for seniors and a valid Medicare Card for Medicare Cardholders is required. Those who wish to obtain an ID for Persons with Disabilities must have a documented physical or mental disability.

LEXTRAN’S SERVICE TO UKLexTran offers several routes that provide service to the University of Kentucky. Below is an overview of those routes.

UK Commonwealth Stadium - Route 14Route 14 is the University of Kentucky Shuttle Operating Monday-Friday from 6:45am until 6:15pm, it stops every 5-7 minutes.

Red Mile - Route 15Operates Monday-Friday in 10-20 minute intervals from 6:50am -6:15pm when University of Kentucky is in session, Bus Stops University Courtyards Apartments, Angliana Avenue And At Lextran Stops Along It’s Route.

Cats Cruiser - Route 30 Operates Thursday-Saturday 9:00pm-3:00am during Fall & Spring semesters. Bus Stops at Cats Cruiser Signs along University Campus (See Map Below).
