FAQ

How does exclusive use of the hotel work?If you book all 30 rooms of the hotel we will guarantee that there will be no other guests in the hotel from when you sit downfor your wedding breakfast until the following morning after breakfast. This does mean that we may have our normal lunchguests still on the premises when you arrive. Exclusive use does not allow the use of all facilities at any time. Access to roomsnot required for your wedding may not be permitted.

Do we have to pay for the bedrooms in advance? No. As the bride and groom you may be asked to sign a contract agreeing to take a set number of bedrooms. You are simplyguaranteeing the use/payment for those bedrooms. Your guests will normally pay for the rooms on departure. You do notneed to collect the money, or pay for them, in advance. You will, however, be responsible for the cost of any unusedaccommodation.

Is the Staple Oak Suite included within our bedroom allocation? The Staple Oak Suite is included at the special wedding rate if you choose to take all 30 bedrooms; alternatively it is availableat its usual tariff.

What time are check in and check out?We are experienced at successfully running weddings on consecutive days so please bear this in mind when considering thetimings of your day. Whilst we try to accommodate guests whenever possible for an early check in, we can only practicallyguarantee check in from 2.00 pm. (Sundays 3.00 pm.) This is particularly important to bear in mind for civil ceremonies and/orweddings that are inviting extra guests in the evening. Guests are requested to vacate their rooms by 11.00 am.

Is there any nearby accommodation? There are a number of B&Bs in the locality, however, many of them only have a handful of rooms and are scattered around thearea. Many couples use the Travel Inn at junction 31a of the M6 for overflow accommodation.

Can we provide our own band/DJ?Yes. We do have a resident DJ but if you prefer you may provide your own entertainment. A Public Liability InsuranceCertificate will be required.

What flowers do you provide? If your florist is not providing table centres, we will place a small posy of neutral coloured flowers or handcut flowers on eachtable. Alternatively Gibbon Bridge can provide arrangements for a fee. Additionally the hotel has floral arrangements in the barand reception areas as well as in the ceremony rooms.

Do you provide chair covers? We do have chair covers in our restaurant for which there is no charge. However, if you require table runners and/or bows &sashes, or an alternative colour, we recommend Creative Cover Hire in Preston who we have found to be very professionalover a number of years.

Are drinks packages available? As each wedding is individual we do not offer packages. We feel that it is more cost effective for you to choose exactly whatyou want and for you to inform us of any budget limitations you may have.

Do you provide wedding packages? We are happy for you to put your own package together from our various menus and tariffs but if you prefer we can providean all-inclusive package for you to include ceremony, menu, drinks, flowers & chair covers.
