Additional features of coM.s.a.t. ISDN Plus

• coM.s.a.t. ISDN Plus supports connectivity to an internal and external S0 Bus of the PABX

• The unit can be configured in NT-Mode (basic connection) or TE-Mode (extension)

• The ISDN Plus can be connected as Point to Point or Point to Multipoint

• Interface

After starting the programming application connect the coM.s.a.t. ISDN Plus with a free COM/USB Port.

Switch on the device and click the „Login“ button to link the PC with the coM.s.a.t. ISDN Plus.

A password is normally not needed.

Wait for the note: „Full access is allowed“.

In most cases there is no need of changing the Factory setting when using NT Mode (Point-to-Point). Only some PABX might need the PABX Number.

The ISDN Watchdog is to monitor the layer 1 and layer 2.

A „RESTART“ message can be send after the device is switched on or after a Reset.

In TE-Mode (Point-to-Multipoint) the used MSN#1/ MSN#2 have to be entered.

• GSM Cfg (for Predaid cards)

This implemented feature is a time based supervision of prepaid SIM cards. A SMS can be sent when the credit becomes low.

„VIP numbers“ have a special treatment. When the VIP numbers contain a MSN you can get connected just by dialling the MSN (Quick Dial) and the CLIP is always sent to the VIPs.

Also for the use of the Virtual PBX (VPBX) you have to enter the number here.

• Incoming Calls

Incoming calls with CLIP can be rejected or redirected to a designated number. Calls without CLIP can be rejected or redirected to the central number.

Example: Reject Calls : Number 01513123456789; incoming call with the number 01513123456789 will be rejected immediately.

Example: Direct Calls from / to : Number 017123456789 / 15; incoming call with the Number 017123456789 will be redirected to the designed MSN Number 15 immediately.

It is possible to choose between Overlap and En-bloc dialling.

„Enable Maintenance Calls“ can be set to get access remotely by data calls.

• Outgoing Calls

The type of speech communication is selected in the „Bearer Capability“ box. For digital ISDN telephones select „Accept Speech“ and „Accept 3,1 kHz Audio“ for analog telephones. No voice communication is possible if both options are deactivated. This can be the case if the coM.s.a.t ISDN Plus is only used for data and fax transmission.

The assignment of the B-channel to the GSM-channel can be defined in the „B to GSM Channel“ box.

The „Send ALERTING message“ will be activated if the „Alerting“for outgoing calls should be generated by coM.s.a.t. ISDN Plus.

There is a possibility to use DTMF with analog telephones in TE-Mode.

The „Dial Timeout“ is the time between the last digit of the dialed number and the selection process passed into the GSM network. A number can also be dialed unsing the „#“ key. Then there is no waiting time.

Numbers that are not to be dialled are entered in the „Reject Calls to:“ List.

The List „Numbers free of Charge“ is for numbers that allow free calls.(no AoC generated by the coM.s.a.t. ISDN Plus)

• Channel 1 / Channel 2In these cards the PIN Numbers of the used SIM cards can be entered.

The coM.s.a.t. ISDN Plus is able to generate an artificial charge information (AoC).

Incoming calls can be redirected to the „Default Number“ (defined extension).

The volume of the microphone and the loudspeaker can be adjusted to the used PABX.

For remote access and for sending/reciving SMS the „ SMS Service Number“ has to be entered (SMS.TXT).

Following options can be entered separately for each B-channel:

o Allow Incoming Calls

o Allow outgoing calls

o Allow Roaming

o Ignore SMS

o Direct Extension

o Delete All SMS

o Enable CLIP

o Enable CLIR

Network Access Numbers can be entered to allow only calls to defined network providers

• InfoThe status of the GSM Module and the Fax/Data Module are queried via the „Info“ card file. The

current software version of the Module is reported as well as the current field strength of the antenna used at the installation site.

• SMSThis option is for sending/receiving SMS.

A SMSserver can be used with an additional firmware and licence.

Remote control:

The „Remote Access“ feature allows quick maintenance in the event of problems. It also enables remote upgrade of the firmware and change of operational setup.

The SIM card number for the device to be serviced has to be entered in the field „Call Number“.

„Callback Number“ is the number of the SIM Card for data calls.

To start the remote access, the botton „Request Callback“ has to be pressed. The device which has to be serviced will call back. To pick up the call you have to enter „ATA“. Then you have access to the device in the field.

A data call can enable you to do a Remote Access. (see the tab „Incoming Calls“)

• DiversionCall diversion can be set up when the SIM Card is „busy“ or „unavailable“. In this example the diversion is set to the GSM Voice Mail.

It is also possible to set the diversion for a called Extension (MSN). A call to the MSN#17 is diverted via GSM to the mobile phone with the number 0151236548 after 10 seconds.

• Virtual PBX (VPBX)

With the coM.s.a.t. ISDN Plus/Basic and the Virtual PBX (VPBX) feature you can handle a mobile phone as an internal caller on the PBX. The functions are „Call Hold“, „Call Retrieve“ and „Call Transfer“. Some GSM operator allows the mobiles phones transfer a call in their GSM network.

The VPBX can be used in NT, TE or Router Mode. It is activated with the licence.

used to get direct access to the GSM Modules or to the Fax/DATA Module.

• Monitor (Cfg)The monitor function of the ISDN Plus software enables quick detection of any GSM or ISDN

error. The log file can be saved and send to our technical support for detailed examination if required.

The colours of various data and command paths are set in the „Monitor Cfg“ card.

You can monitor the GSM Channels, FAX/DATA Modem and all three ISDN Layers. For detailed information you can take a look in the Debug Output .

• Unconnected Calls

It is not possible to transfer Calling Party Number (A party, MSN) to the Called Party Number (B party) when using a GSM gateway. You can only transmit the number from the used SIM card or not. To let the B party know that he was called while he was BUSY or not loged into the GSM network the coM.s.a.t. ISDN Plus is able to send a SMS. The B party only has to call the number in the SMS. The ISDN Plus inserts the extension number automaticaly.

Exaple for a SMS: „ Number +4962171481417 tried to reach you. Please call back“

An other way to handle unconnected calls when sending the own CLI is to store the Called Party Number in a temporary list. When the ISDN Plus receives an incoming call from GSM the gateway looks up for the calling party number in the „Temporary Direct Connect“ list. Is an entry found the call will be directly connected to the respective extension (MSN).

Both methodes can be used at the same time.

• FAX/DATA Configuration

With an additional Fax/DATA board (ISDN Plus only) you are able to send/receive analog FAX/DATA calls. Please note that the inserted SIM Cards are permited for FAX/DATA transmission.

In order to send FAX/DATA you have to enter the Extention number with the connected FAX/MODEM in the field „Analog FAX“/ „Analog MODEM“ (Special MSNs).

The ISDN Plus has to know where to send the receive FAX/DATA calls. Therefore you have to enter the extention numbers in the fields „ FAX Calls to“ / „DATA Calls to“ (Special MSNs).

It is also possible to send/receive FAX/DATA calls through the serial or USB interface. If you use the serial or USB interface no additional FAX/DATA board is needed.

You only have to install the ISDN Plus/Basic as a MODEM (using the file „ISDNPlus.inf or cmsbasic.inf“) and use a FAX/DATA application for WINDOWS.

• Meaning of the LEDs

The coM.s.a.t ISDN Plus has 6 LED´s, with different colours, for monitoring purposes.

The printing on the metal case of the housing describes the function to each LED.

While using a 1 channel ISDN Plus, 2 LED’s (1 yellow / 1 green) will flash simultaneously, using a 2 channel ISDN Plus all 4 LED’s (2 yellow / 2 green) will flash.
