Custom Built Switchboard SystemsT2 Energy’s standard custom switchboard is a fully welded, powder coated free standing construction with an IP56 degree of protection, manufactured from 2mm zinc coated steel, and demountable modules. This proven type-tested design has been used in a wide range of mining, industrial, and commercial applications both as indoor and outdoor weatherproof switchboards. For motor control applications the MCC tiers are manufactured as 8 or 10 cell variants with a nominal cell width of 550mm. This standard design can be modified to suit specific customer requirements. Custom specifications can be found at the end of this document.

E-House

Solar Power Renewable Energy SystemsT2 Energy specialises in the design and manufacture of electrical and mechanical fabricated equipment for solar farms, up to approximately 50MW.

The E-House acts as a control centre for all power generated from the solar farm. The major benefit of the T2 E-House is its adaptability. It can be transported and installed at any site, no matter how remote.

The components of the E-House are installed in custom-built switchrooms or containerised transportable systems. They feature the following:• 22kV/33kV main switchboard• LV main switchboard• Protection relay panels• SCADA server and communications rack• Auxiliary services transformer• Fire detection and gas suppression system• Airconditioning systems

T2 E-Houses also have remote communication capability. This means that monitoring can occur off-site.

Transformers and Padmounted Transformer Kiosks

SCADA Software Solutions

Transformer Kiosks are sized to suit the particular requirements of the solar farm. If one part of the farm fails, T2’s ring main units allow easier maintenance without complete loss of power during repair work.

The transformers consist of the following:• 22kV/33kV ring main units• Converter transformers (2 or 3 winding)• Low voltage end or busbars suitable for connecting large solar inverter cables

SCADA Software controls the operation of the solar farm. It employs both hardware and software functions to ensure that customers have full control over their solar farms. T2 Energy provides flexibility on input and output (IO) requirements to suit our customers’ needs.

WIRING

y All control wiring to be PVC V90 0.6/1kV grade with tinned copper conductor. y Control and instrumentation wiring has flexible copper conductors, and colour coded as

detailed, numbered each end, and terminated by the use of appropriate pre-insulated crimp lugs etc.

y Power wiring to be a minimum 2.5sqmm stranded copper conductors, unless indicated. y Phase and control cable colour coded as required by the customer. y Low level instrumentation signals and 4-20mA signals wired in shielded pair minimum sized

to specified requirements and earthed at one end only. y Earth cables minimum 2.5sqmm flexible coloured green/yellow. y Doors and hinged escutcheons bonded with 4sqmm flexible earth strap/cable. y Wire numbering will be equal to the Brady system.

SURFACE FINISH

Surface preparation Zinc-seal AS1397–2001 G2 ZS30 has a phosphate coating and only requires degreasing before paint. Dulux Duthin 020 prep wash being manually applied solvent degreaser.

Primer coat Dulux Powder Coat Primer applied at 10-20 micrometres.

Painting Powder coatings are solid materials that are applied with a specialised electrostatic gun, and then baked in a hot oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.

Dry film thickness A dry film thickness of 60-80 micrometres will be applied unless otherwise stated on approved workshop drawings.

Colours should be selected from the standard range of powder coat finishes

BUSBARS

Construction details Busbars are manufactured from hard drawn high conductivity (HDHC) copper, conservatively sized to ensure temperature ratings are not excessive.

Phase identification As a minimum each phase is distinguished by use of 50mm painted bands or heat-shrink sleeving spaced at not more than 500mm centres.

Cleats y Main busbar cleats manufactured from glass fiber reinforced composite, or 25mm thick densified wood (Permali).

CUBICLE

Construction details y The cubicle is folded and welded to form a free standing Form 4a (AS/NZS 3439.1:2002) construction with an IP rating <IP66 (AS 60529–2004).

y The motor control centre has interchangeable unit cells with power connection in the starter cell and control terminals located in either the cable zone or starter cell.

Material Standard: 2mm zinc coated steel folded and welded with all visible seams and joints fully welded and ground smooth where necessary. All edges and corners burr free and made safe.Options:

1. 1.6mm zinc coated steel (for smaller switchboards in protected areas).2. 1.6mm 304 or 316 stainless steel.3. 2mm 304 or 316 stainless steel.4. 3mm aluminum (special manufacture).

GLAND PLATES
