We are in the process of finding presenters for this special day.
Career Day becomes an even more exciting experience for our students when members of their own families present to the classes. Each speaker will have a table in the gym to display information about his/her occupation and to answer possible questions.
If you can assist us by participating in this activity please let us know by emailing Mrs. Esposito, our School Counselor, at [email protected].
We only have a limited amount of guest presenters which we can accommodate; therefore, we may not be able to use everyone who replies. Your support for your child and for Takoma Academy Preparatory School l is greatly appreciated.

Dear Parents,
We will be conducting hearing and vision screenings for the 2019-20 school year. The
screenings will be performed on all students in Kindergarten, 1st grade, 8th grade and
students receiving special education services.
A screening examination is a very general test that is designed to detect possible
problems. Vision screenings are not a substitute for an eye examination. For vision
screenings, students are shown a vision testing chart and asked to read letters or
identify symbols from a distance. If they are unable to do so, parents will receive a letter
advising you to have your child assessed by an eye doctor
(optometrist/ophthalmologist).
Hearing screenings are performed by having students listen to tones through
headphones. If they fail to respond to these tones, you will receive notification
recommending that your physician see your child and provide further guidance.
If you have a religious observance that objects to hearing and vision screenings or if
your child has been screened within 1 year and you have documentation, please notify
me by email or written note so that I can place it in the student’s medical file.
Thank you,
Jennifer Danticat RN
