The IE Foundation’s principal goals are to provideresourcesandcreateinitiativesthatincreasethequalityofeducationatIE;tosupportappliedresearchthataddsvaluetotheacademiccommunityandsocietyatlarge;toimplementandfinancescholarshipprogramsfortalentedindividuals;andtofosteracultureofsocialawarenessandcommunityinvolvement.

ThepursuitofthesegoalsisdemonstratedbytheworktheFoundationhascarriedoutthroughoutitshistory,andoverthelastyearinparticular.Fromfundingdozensofscholarshipsthatgivetalentedstudentsaccesstotheeducationandopportunitiestheydeserve,tosupportingresearch related to diversity, globalization, genderequality,entrepreneurshipandsocialinnovation,westrivetoensurethateverymemberoftheIEcommunityhasthechancetogrowbothpersonallyandprofessionally—andtocontributeintheirownwaytosocietalprogress.

The IE Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to enhance the social impact of IE, through the application of its own resources as well as collaborations with strategic partners. Founded in 1997, the Foundation has been actively promoting the institution’s values of entrepreneurship, diversity, inclusivity and innovation for the past twenty years.

TogetherwecontinuetobuildtheIEcommunityblockbyblock.Comprisedofstudents,alumni,professors,families,staff,collaboratorsandallofuswhostrivetokeepitgrowing,thiscommunityhasbeenbuiltbyeveryone,foreveryone.Hence,Iwanttoprovideyouallwithabriefdescriptionofthekeydevelopmentscurrentlyunderway.

TheIEFoundationisworkingoninitiativesaimedatimprovingthequalityofeducation,drivingresearch,fundingscholarshipprograms,promotingacultureofgivingback,andstrengtheningIE’scorevaluesandtheirimpactonsociety.

Asstatedabove,itisthankstotheconstantsupportprovidedbyourstudents,alumni,families,strategicpartnersandothercontributorsthattheIEFoundationisabletochanneltheactivitiescarriedoutbyourschoolstomakearealimpactonsociety,whilefurtherstrengtheningtheIEcommunity.Asinpreviousyears,in2016oureffortswerefocusedontwomajoraims:attractingthebeststudentandresearchtalenttoIE,andlaunchingprojectswithahighlevelof

impactinsocialandeconomicterms.

In2016theIEcommunity,throughtheFoundationandIEfunds,provided1,100studentsfrom83countrieswithanIEscholarshiptostudyundergraduate,graduateandexecutiveeducationprograms.WiththehelpofthefundssogenerouslydonatedtotheFoundation,theIEcommunitywasabletorecognizetheexcellence,diversityandentrepreneurialspiritof itsstudents,andensurethatnohigh-potentialcandidatewasturnedaway.

Oneofthemajorprojectslaunchedin2016wastheIEFoundationPrizesintheHumanities,whichattractedentriesfromstudentsandalumnifromallfiveIEschools.Thehumanitiesareacorevalueforourinstitution,stimulatingthecapacity

tohaveanothervoice,seethingsanotherwayanddevelopcriticalthinking.Wearethereforegratefultoalltheparticipantswho,withtheirstories,poetry,videosandphotos,madethiseventsucharesoundingsuccess.

Theyear2016alsosawchangesinthestructureoftheIEFoundation,withthearrivalofCarlosMasasexecutivevicepresident.CarloshadpreviouslyservedaschairmanandseniorpartnerofPwCEspañaandasamemberofPwC’sWorldwideBoardofManagement.Givenhisexceptionalprofile,wearehonoredtohavehimatthehelmoftheIEFoundation.

MastookoverfromRafaelPuyol,who,followingaspectaculartrajectoryinSpain’sstateeducationsector,joinedIE,wherehecarriedoutmagnificentwork.WeareallverygratefulforthemorethantenyearshespentleadingtheFoundation,andforhismanygreatachievements,whichhavebenefitedusall.RafaelmaintainsacloseconnectionwithourinstitutionaspresidentofIEUniversity’sBoardofGovernors,andasdirectoroftheObservatoryonDemographics.

InNovember2016,Philyratookoverthemanagementofthisscholarshipopportunity,whichwaspreviouslyofferedbytheprestigiousQuirónGroup.ThescholarshipoperatesonthesamebasisasthatofAJEGROUP,butinthiscaseitsupportshomegrown talenthere inSpain. IE isproud tonourishandshareSpanishtalentwiththerestoftheinternationalcommunity,thanksinparttothesupportthisscholarshipprovides.

IE Foundation and FRV

ThisscholarshipisofferedinpartnershipwithFotowatioRenewableVentures,aglobalutility-scalesolardevelopmentcompany.Itisawardedtoastudentinoneofthecommunitieswherethecompanyhasworked,inordertodrivepositivesocialchangeandtheprogressofeducationinthatregion.In2015itwasawardedtoanindividualfromUruguay,anditsinternationaldimensionhassincebeenfurtherexpandedwithtwoscholarshiprecipientsfromJordan.

ThehumanitiesareakeyaspectoftheIEidentity.Regardlessofeachstudent’schosencourseofstudy,theyareofferedthechancetoparticipateinavarietyofcompetitionsandeventsdesignedtoexhibittheirdiversetalents.

InSeptember2016,thefirstPrizesintheHumanitieswereawardedbyIEFoundationPresidentDiegodelAlcázar.TheseawardsrecognizedthemostcreativecontributionsfromIEstudentsinvariousformatssuchasfiction,visualarts,poetryandmore.Theawardsceremonywasanimpressiveshowcaseofallthatourstudentsarecapableof,bothwithinandbeyondtheacademicsetting.

To truly excel in the world of academics and the professional environment, students must have access to the best educational opportunities available. Even the most talented, motivated and promising individuals sometimes need assistance to access those opportunities. This is where the IE Foundation comes in. We seek out those with the highest potential—who may not be able to accomplish all they are capable of due to financial limitations—and give them the help they need to achieve and exceed their goals.

3.3 BREAKING

Doctorate degree programsIEBusinessSchoolofferstwodoctoralprograms:afull-timePhDandapart-timeDBA.Theseprogramsaredesignedtobringoutthebestinpeoplewhoareatthetopoftheirfields,andtakethemtothenext levelacademicallyandprofessionally.

ThePhDprogramislimitedtoanintakeofjusttenstudentseach year, allowing participants to receive individualattentionandsupportastheyexploreideas,conductresearchandpreparetheirtheses.TheIEFoundationoffersseveralgrantstocovertuitionandfees,sothatcandidatescanfocusontheirprojectswithouthavingtoworryaboutfinances.

In April 2016, IE hosted the third annual DoctoralConsortium.TheeventgavePhDcandidatesthechancetosharetheiracademicexperiencesthroughpanelsregardingvariousaspectsofmanagement,presidedoverbyfaculty.Over80researchersfromalloverEuropewerepresentatthisenormouslysuccessfulevent,alongwithvariousparticipantsfromIEandotherinstitutions.

General Scholarship FundAlittlegoesalongway,andattheIEFoundationweknowthatanyamountofeconomichelpcanbetheboostneededtodrivesomeonetowardsuccess.Thisyear,theGeneralScholarshipFundhassupportedover200studentsonthepathtofulfillingtheirpotential.Awardsarebasedoneachstudent’sacademicperformance,socialinvolvementandfinancialsituation,inordertoensurethatthemostdeservingindividualsreceivethehelptheyneed.

Fulbright CommissionWearehonoredtocollaboratewith theworld-renownedFulbrightCommission inorder to supportpostgraduatestudentsfromtheUnitedStatesintheirstudiesatIE.TheFoundation funds full-tuitionscholarships forprogramssuchastheInternationalMBA,theMasterinManagementanddegreesincommunicationandthesocialandbehavioralsciences.Thesearehighlycompetitiveawards,given tostudentswhoshowgreatacademicpotentialandauniquedrivetoinnovateandeffectchangeintheworldaroundthem.

VICTOR MUOisanInternationalMBAstudentwhowastherecipientofa2016IEFoundationScholarship.Weaskedhimtosharehisstory,aswellashisthoughtsonIEandhighereducation.

On the IE Foundation Scholarship: “W hen I applied to IE last year, Nigeria’s economy was badly hit by the crash in oil prices. This significantly reduced the value of my savings and put my MBA dreams out of reach. But the IE Foundation came to the rescue with a sizeable scholarship to reduce my financial burden. The team was very understanding, and they were aware of the Forex crisis in Nigeria. I remain grateful to the Foundation for the f inancial support I received to complete my MBA.”

On the IE experience: “My experience at IE has been magical. The first thing that wowed me was the school’s diversity, with more than 90 countries represented in the program. Amazing stuff! This diversity enriched our classroom discussions, group activities and overall sociocultural experience.”

On the power of education: “I believe that we all have a moral obligation to support any cause that educates our youth and develops their talent. Whenever we have the opportunity, we must intervene in the cycle of poverty and lack of education by providing the resources required to break the chain. The IE Foundation is deeply committed to supporting the IE Library, whose work encompasses all of the aims and principles of the Foundation. ThroughIEBusinessSchool’sCenterforDiversityinGlobalManagement,theGenderTensionGapProgram(GTG)aimstouseacademicresearchtoconstructatoolthatwillallowcompaniestomanagetheissueofgendertensiongapsintheworkplace.In2018,GTGwillconsiderthestrugglethatindividualsmayfacebetweentheexpectations(bothcurrentandaspirational)oftheirgenders,andthoseoftheirrolesintheworkplace.

She examines the concept ofmoneyintheEuropeancontext,theroleofnationalcurrenciesintheconstructionofnationalidentityandtheemergenceofcommunity-basedfinance. In the 2016 EMIDIS report on the

managementofgenderdiversityinSpain,IEwasrankedamongthetopfiveSpanishcompanies for its LGBT diversity andinclusioninitiatives.Thisreportevaluatesstrategiesandbestpractices related togenderandsexuality in theworkplace,andprovidesrecommendationsforfutureimprovement.Itshighlyfavorablerankingof IE was based on the institution’sequalitypolicies,trainingandacquisition,corporate culture, LGBT employeenetworksandexternalcommunication.

TheCenter forGoodGovernance is a research,educationalandimpact-orientedinstitutionthatisajointinitiativeoftheIEFoundationandGrantThornton.Itaimstoenhancegeneralunderstandingofgoodcorporategovernance,responsibilityandreputation.Itscentralfocusisthedevelopmentofaprosperousandsustainablesociety.

TheCenterisultimatelyaforumfortheexchangeof ideas,opinions,analysisandresearch,anditworkstofacilitatetheidentificationofnewideasandtrendsinafast-changing,globalizedworld.Italsodevotessignificanttimeandresourcestotracingtheoriginsofnationalandinternationaleconomic and financial crises, in addition todevelopingpreventativemeasuresandstrategiesinanattempttobetteranticipateandmanagefuturecatastrophes.

Center for Innovation in the Public Sector

TheCenterforInnovationinthePublicSectoris a joint initiativeof IEBusiness School andthe PwC Foundation. Its primary focus isthe transformation of antiquated systems ofpublic administration. The Center works toraiseawarenessoftheneedtomodernizesuchinstitutionsthrougheducation,outreach,events,researchandpublications.

In2016itsworkcenteredonthreemainareas.Thefirstof these,smartcities,concernedthetransformationofoururbancommunitiesintointelligent, sustainableenvironmentsandtheimpactofthisphenomenononsystemsofpublicadministration.The second, European funds,focusedonthecapitalallocatedbytheEUforthe2014–2020period,anditsuseinimplementingnewpoliciesandprojects.Thelastofthethree,theuseofemergingtechnologiesinthepublicsector,identifiedinformationtechnologysystemsaskeycomponentsinthetransformationoftheseinstrumentsofgovernance.

TheCenteralsoheldpresentationsandcoursesaspartofitspubliceventsschedule.Theseeventsincludedanexecutivecourseinpublicleadership,attendedby35seniorfiguresinthepublicsector;thepresentationofareportonsmartcities;andaworkingbreakfastconcerningpublicprocurementregulationsforthenewdigitalage.

Center for Insurance Research

TheCenterforInsuranceResearchcameintobeingasa resultof the IEFoundation’sdeepcommitmenttoresearchandthedisseminationofknowledge.ItsestablishmentwasfirstannouncedinFebruary2016,ataroundtablediscussiononthe impact of new regulations on insuranceentities.TheCenteropeneditsdoorsforthefirsttimeinJulyofthesameyear,withsponsorshipfromCliffordChance,SCORandInformáticaElCorteInglés.

TheCenter’smissionistopromoteandcontributetosociety’sgeneralknowledgeandunderstandingofinsurancethroughinvestigativestudiesandcollaborationwiththebusinessandscientificcommunities.Italsofulfillsanimportantsocialfunctionbyofferingprotectiontoinjuredparties,namelyaccidentvictims.

The insurance sector plays an importanteconomic role in the developed world andconstitutesaround6.5%oftheglobalGDP(5.5%oftheSpanishGDP).Notonlyisitasignificantsourceofemployment,butitalsofunctionsasacounter-cyclicalstabilizermechanismintimesofcrisisandencouragesinnovationandlong-termplanning.

SCIEF is the leading European center for the study of Islamic finance and economics. Since its establishment in 2009, the Center has worked tirelessly to promote the understanding and application of Islamic finance and economics among businesses, both in Spain and internationally. It is also committed to the education of governments and future leaders.

Itsgrowthinrecentyears,coupledwithitspositiveimpactacrosstheEuropeanUnion,makethepremiumandluxuryproductsindustryaparticularlyinterestingsectorofthemarket.TheObservatory for thePremiumandPrestigeMarket seeks to enhance both industry and consumerknowledgeofthissector.ThoughSpainisitsinitialfocus,theinitiativewillideallyberolledoutonaglobalscaleinthefuture.

2016saw thepublicationofanumberof studiesby theObservatory, including the firsteditionof itsPremiumTravelBarometer.Itishopedthatthisannualpublication,which incorporatesknowledgeand insights fromtravelindustryexperts,willserveasausefulsourceofreferenceforthesector.SeveralsignificantnewseventswerealsoheldattheObservatorycenterlastyear;forexample,MiguelAngelGardettiandMaríaEugeniaGiróncelebratedthereleaseoftheirbookSustainable Luxury and Social Entrepreneurship inlateJune.

TheObservatory forCashManagementhasestablisheditself as a leading point of reference in business andfinancialcircles.ItskeysponsorsincludetheinternationalprofessionalservicesfirmPricewaterhouseCoopersandtheMadrid-basedcreditinsurancecompanyCréditoyCaución.Theinstitutionitselfisdividedintothreemainareas:creditrisk(customerrelations),managementexpenditure(dealingswithsuppliers)andbankingnegotiation.

The Chair for Human ResourceManagement, in partnership withInditex,exploreshowinnovativebestpracticescanleadtovaluecreationforcompaniesinallindustries.ThethreemainactivitieshandledbythisChairare applied research, professionaldevelopment and documentation.Theseeffortsproducenewinformationandstudiesthatreflectaninnovativeandcutting-edgeapproachtohumanresources,whilepromotingtheupwardmobilityandcareeroptimizationofeachcompany’semployees.

Justasourmethodsofcommunicationanddisseminationofknowledgehaveevolved,sotoomustourmanagementstyles.TheChairforHumanResourceManagementworksbothtoimprovethe value of each company and toconductvaluableacademicresearchthat benef its the industry as awhole. The Chair has also workedhard todocument these initiatives,making this data readily availableforuseinacademicstudies.Inditex’ssponsorshipofthisChairhasgeneratedsignificantrevenue,makingthe2016renewal of theChair agreement anunquestionablyworthwhileventure.

Travel Club Loyalty Chair

TheTravelClubLoyaltyChairprovidesan interactive space dedicated toappliedresearchoncustomerloyalty.In2016alone, thisChairconducteda number of studies that took atheoretical approach to the mostrelevant findings on real brands’customerloyalty.Participantsinthe2016eventsexploredanddiscussedthe“momentofacquiredloyalty”;theessential moment when customersmake the conscious decision tosupportaparticularbrandinsteadofitscompetitors.

Leadinguptotheseevents,AirMilessponsored the Chair to conductinvest igat ions on the proposedtopics and create case studies ofboth national and internationalcompanies. Invaluable researchwasgathered that allows for a betterunderstandingofthevariousstagesthecustomerexperiencesduringthedecision-makingprocess.This datacanbeapplieddirectlytothefieldofmarketing,givingbothstudentsandfaculty freshdataonwhich tobasefuturestudies.

Inadditiontoprovidingthetoolsneededtoconductresearch,theIEFoundationgoesonestepfurtherbybringingtheworld’smostinnovativeresearcherstotheIEcampus.ResearchforumsareanexceptionalchanceformembersoftheIEcommunitytoengagewithaselectionoftheworld’stopthinkersandleaders.Allarewelcometoattendthesesummits,inanattempttocreateaninterdisciplinaryexchangeofideasanddata.Since2013,expertsfromanarrayoffieldshavepresentedtheirlatestfindingsintheincredible academic setting provided by theseevents.

Research forums bring together students,professors,professionalsandmogulstocollaborate,informoneanotherandchangethewaywethinkaboutbusiness.Oneoftheseforums,theSouthSummit,isfocusedonhighlightingsomeofthemoreobscuresectorsinordertopromoteinterestandthegenerationofnewideas.TheSouthSummitalsoencouragesstudents’continueddevelopmentinthebusinessclimatebyshowcasingsuccessstoriesofallkinds.Here,smallbusinessesandoutstandingentrepreneursareemphasized,furtherpromotingMadridasthenewestglobalhubofentrepreneurialactivity.TheIEFoundation’sresearchforumsofferachancetonetworkandstayinformedonthelatestfindingsonanarrayoftopics,leavingparticipantswithafreshperspectiveandnewfoundinspiration.

The South Summit allows startups fromsouthern Europe, theMediterranean andLatinAmericatodemonstratethetalentandinnovationtheyhavetooffer.ItfosterstheentrepreneurialenvironmenthereinSpainand around the world, and strengthensconnectionsbetweencountriesthatareoftenleftoutoftheglobalbusinessnetwork.Thiseventmaximizes thevisibilityof someoftheworld’smostinnovativeentrepreneurs,therebyenrichingtheentireindustrywithnewideas,perspectivesandopportunities.

SOUThSUMMIT

One of the IE Foundation’s principal goals is to support entrepreneurship and development in the world’s most disadvantaged communities. One way to do this is by bringing promising young people from these communities into the international business environment, and giving them the resources and training they need to succeed. This is the objective of the South Summit, an event created by Spain Startup to help turn the country into the newest global hub for entrepreneurship.

CENTER FOR dIVERSIT YMANAGEMENTIN GLOBAL

The Center for Diversity in Global Management was created to promote diversity in gender, culture, age and ability in the corporate world. It accomplishes this largely through content creation and the diffusion of knowledge. The Center conducts training, raises awareness, encourages cross-cultural conversation and uses current research to develop future plans. More information on the research and events the Center has recently carried out can be found in the first two sections of this report. Here we will focus on the educational initiatives the Center has recently undertaken.

Diversity Impact ProjectThis program gives InternationalMBA students at IEBusinessSchoolthechancetoapplytheirskillstoreal-worldproblems,enhancingthediversitytrainingtheyreceiveaspartofthedegree.Studentsworkinteamsoftwotofourtotackleadiversity-relatedchallengeatoneoftheschool’spartner companies,with the support of the company’smanagementandIEfaculty.

In2016,IMBAstudentsworkedwithcompaniesincludingIBM,ZurichInsuranceGroupandAmadeusaspartofthisproject.TheyhelpeddevelopprogramstoattractwomenintheSTEMfields,improvecorporatediversitystrategies,solveproblemsposedby specific situationsanddesignpoliciestargetedatmillennialemployees.

IE Women in Business Mentoring ProgramTheIEFoundationhasprovidedsupportfortheIEWomeninBusinessclubtooperatethismentoringprogram,inwhichfemalestudentsarepairedwithbusinessprofessionalstoexchangeknowledgeandexperience.In2016,theprogramheldameetingfortheexecutivecommitteetosetobjectives;aworkshop for the tenmentors and tenmentees to bematchedwithoneanother;ameetingforthementorstodiscussprogress;andameetingforthementeestosharetheirexperiences.

FINANCIERSWIThOUT BORdERS

FinancierswithoutBorderscurrentlyoperatesatthreelevels:atIE,inGhanaandonaninternationalscale.AtIE,ithelpstosettheinstitutionapartfromitscompetitorsandattractstudentsandprofessors.AccordingtotheIEAdmissionsDepartment,30%ofstudentsintheMasterofFinanceprogramchooseitinpartbecauseofthisorganization.

InGhana,theorganizationplaysanimportantroleinthedevelopmentandgrowthofthemicro-productionsector.Itworksincollaborationwithmicrofinanceinstitutions(MFIs)aswellastheCentralBankandtheMinistryofFinanceandEconomicPlanning.Internationally,itoperatesasalarge-scaleNGOcomparabletoHarvard’sACCIONInternationalandESADE’sInstituteforSocialInnovation.

ACTIvITIeS

In2015,FinancierswithoutBorderssufferedasaresultoforganizationalrestructuringandbudgetcuts.2016wasthusayearofrebuilding.TheorganizationexploredcollaborationopportunitieswithotherIEmaster’sprograms(beyondtheMIM)andredesigneditsoperationstoadapttotheresourcesavailable—andtoensurethatfutureissuesofthiskindwouldhaveareducedimpact.Aplanwascreatedtodevelopnewactivities,thefirstofwhichwouldhavestudentsworkwithMFIstoimprovesocialstrategiesandmakeagreaterimpactonlow-incomepopulations.

In 2016, Financierswithout Borders carried out severalinitiativesandactivities.IthelpedprovidetechnicalassistancetoGhanaianMFIsinboththespringandthefall,ateventsthatwereattendedbysixMFIs,sevenIEprofessorsand28studentsfromtheMasterofFinanceprogram.

Italsosupportedseveralresearchprojects,includingonesponsored by the London School of Economics and theInternational Growth Center. This study was entitled“Microfinance institutions and micro and small enterprises in Ghana: The potential of the missing middle.”Itwaspresentedatthe2016annualmeetingoftheAfricanAccountingandFinanceAssociationinNairobi,KenyabyIEfacultymemberMarcoTrombetta.

Financiers without Borders is a non-profit organization created by IE professors and students, with the goal of promoting funding in the parts of the world that need it most. It supports micro-production activities in regions that have underdeveloped microfinance systems, particularly in Africa.

Puentes Global is a social venture that operates with the support of the IE Foundation. Its goal is to help vulnerable individuals enter the workforce through entrepreneurship. It accomplishes this by training, advising and supporting entrepreneurs and other social entities in this field. Project HelixProjectHelixisthecentralactivityofPuentesGlobal.Itsprincipalobjective is to facilitatecollaborationbetweenstudentsofbusinessadministrationorentrepreneurshipwithsmallbusinessowners,allowingthemtoreceivesupportastheydeveloptheirprojects.

In2016,ProjectHelixmadesignificantprogressinseveralareas. It sawan increase in thenumberofparticipatingstudentsandschools,withtheinvolvementoffivestudentsfrom the Carlos III University of Madrid’s Master inEntrepreneurshipprogram.SixteenIEIMBAstudentsalsoparticipatedintheprojectin2016,providingadvicetofourentrepreneurs.AttheendoftheyearthefirstSocialImpactLabwasheldinSegovia.

Attheendof2016,ProjectHelixstarteddevelopingnewtoolsandmethodologytorestructuretheadvisingprocessandfocusonagilelaunchesofnewbusinesses.Theseupdatesnowprovidetheteamsofstudentsandentrepreneurswithanimprovedframeworkthatfacilitatesbetterresults.

La_b MarmitaInspringof2016,PuentesGlobaltookoverthemanagementofLa_bMarmita,anincubatorforcreativeentrepreneurs.La_bMarmitaisajointeffortbetweenPuentesGlobal,LaCasaEncendidaculturalcenterandLosHacedores(adigitalmanufacturingworkshopandtrainingcenter),withsupportfrom the Carasso Foundation. It provides training andadvisingtohelpcreativeentrepreneursdevelopthetechnicalandbusinessaspectsoftheirprojects.Twelveindividualsparticipatedinitsfirstedition.

Campus LifeThe IE communityplacesgreat valueon theall-aroundexperience of its students, both inside and outside theclassroom.For this reason, theworkof theCampusLifedepartment is invaluable in coordinating student-ledextracurricularactivitiesthatpromoteboththediversityamong students and the common interests they share.Theseactivitiescreateastrongsenseofcommunityandhelptodevelopinterpersonalcommunicationskillsinanon-academicenvironment.

OnesucheventwastheTEDxIEMadridconference,heldinJulyof2016.Approximately100peopleattended,includingstudentsfromallofIE’smastersprograms,alumni,staff,professorsandbusinessprofessionals.Speakersfromacrosstheworldpresentedtalkscenteredonthetheme“Whynot?”Theconference’sgoalwastobringinspiringideastotheIEcampus,motivatingmembersoftheIEcommunitytoquestionacceptednormsandmakeapositiveimpact.

TheIEFoundationalsoworkedwithCampusLifetopresentthe IE Social Responsibility Forum 2016 in November.More than200 IEmaster’s students, alumni,professorsandbusinessprofessionalsattendedtheevent.Theywereencouragedtosharetheirexperiencesandideasrelatingtoarangeofissues,underthetheme“Socialresponsibilityatalllevels:fromstartuptotheboardroom.”

IDEAS magazineIDEASmagazineisajointprojectoftheIEFoundationandthe IEAlumniAssociation. It is a quarterlypublicationofferedfreeofcharge,whichfocusesonbusiness,economicandlegalthemes.Itservesasaplatformforsharingbestpracticesandexpertopinions,andspotlightssuccessfulalumniandentrepreneursintheglobalbusinesscommunity.ThemagazineiscurrentlydistributedthroughoutSpainandinternationally.

Through initiatives like the the South Summit, the Center for Diversity in Global Management, Financiers without Borders, Puentes Global and more, the IE Foundation engages with the community and does its part to promote positive change in the world. Our work does not end at the boundaries of the IE campus, or even the borders of Spain. We believe that the biggest societal changes originate in classrooms, in boardrooms, on university campuses and in the hearts and minds of individual citizens.
