The Australasian Sonographers Association (ASA) is the peak body and leading voice for all sonographers. Sonographers are highly skilled medical imaging professionals who use ultrasound to perform specialised diagnostic examinations (sonography). The work of sonographers has a huge impact on patient diagnosis and care across Australia and New Zealand every day.

Companies that advertise in ASA member publications have their message delivered directly to 6,500 of these ultrasound professionals. The ASA is the only organisation in Australia and New Zealand that solely represents sonographers; with over 75% of accredited medical sonographers in Australia and a growing membership in New Zealand. That makes the ASA membership a highly specialised target audience for companies operating in the field of ultrasound.

This,combined with the convenience of direct registrationfor ASA CPD events, has made cross section the ‘goto’ communication for our members.

Due to its frequency and digital format, cross section is ideal for advertising content that:

Sonography Sonography is a peer-reviewed scientific and academic journal, published quarterly, providing the latest information on all aspects of sonography. Print copies are distributed to members quarterly with the print version of soundeffects news. As a member benefit, ASA members have access to the online journal in the Wiley Online Library via the ASA website. Elsewhere, access is via subscription.

Sonography has a growing international audience in the ultrasound and medical imaging community, demonstrated by the increasing number of article downloads, and mentions across digital channels. Enquiries about advertising in Sonography should be directed to Wiley publishing.

Annual International Conference handbook The ASA’s annual major professional development event is extremely popular with sonographers and is always well subscribed.

The ASA’s International Annual Conference is promoted to all sonographers, with a range of lectures and workshops covering a variety of clinical and non-clinical topics. The most recent conferences held in Brisbane (2019) and Sydney (2018), were each attended by over 1,200 and 1,500 delegates respectively. All delegates are provided with a printed handbook including the conference program.

Making Waves in sonography research A concise resource to help you keep up with what is going on in sonography research. All the content has been appraised and summarised for by the industry experts from the ASA Special Interest Groups. Well received by members.

Wall planner The ASA’s wall planner can be found on the walls of many medical imaging departments and services, where it plays a vital role in staff rostering and service management. Conference attendance and annual leave is commonly planned on wall planners, giving advertisers year-round exposure to all employees.

ASA members receive the wall planner in November. The ASA wall planner is extremely popular and members eagerly await its arrival in order to start planning their professional development and leave into the next year.
