Research Proposal

Master of Philosophy (MPhil) specialising in Inclusive Innovation

The Research Proposal should tell us about your knowledge and experience to date, the context of the challenge you are addressing, the impact you envisage, and if applicable, the existing solutions in the field. The Research Proposal is your opportunity to make a case for the work you are passionate about. There is no specific word requirement, although we recommend 1500 – 2000 words. Every challenge is different, so use the questions below as a guide.

Section A: Problem Statement (1000 words)

Please outline a statement explaining what African challenge you wish to tackle, and the vision for the impact you want to have. Focus in particular on what the need is, and who the solution will impact. What does ‘good’ look like? What will you measure to know you have succeeded?
