an  individual  or  a  single  entity)  and  Tek'it  Audio  for  the  product 

accompanying  this  document,  which  includes  software  and  all  associated 

media ("Software").

All  copyrights  to  the  Software  are  exclusively  owned  by  the Author, Tek'it 

Audio. All rights not expressly granted here are reserved by Tek'it Audio.

Installing, copying, or using the Software signifies acceptance of  the terms 

and conditions of this License Agreement. If you do not agree with the terms 

of  this  License Agreement  you must  remove  the  Software  files  from  your 

storage devices and cease to use the Software.

The Software is  licensed, not sold. You have the right to use this Software 

for  music  composition  and  sound  design  for  both  commercial  and  non­

commercial  projects. You  have  the  right  to  use  this  Software  for  creating 

non­commercial preset libraries. For commercial preset libraries you should 

request a written or emailed permission of the copyright holder.

The  Software  may  not  be  distributed,  shared,  duplicated  with  exceptions

Welcome

Thank you for choosing Oru, Tek'it Audio wavefolder high­quality distortion. 

Oru  offers  powerful  wave  folding  distortion,  well  suited  to  distort  your 

synthesizer sounds.

Oru comes with MIDI automation support, a preset manager, the possibility 

to undo your changes and oversampling for clearer sound.

 

We  hope  you  enjoy  this  software,  and  create  great music with  it.  Please, 

take the time to read this manual and learn how to exploit all the features of 

your new plug­in.

In  this  Manual,  installation  procedures,  features  and  operations  are 

described. This  pdf  documents  is  installed with  the program,  you  find  it  in 

the Tek'it Audio folder inside your user Documents folder and you can open 

it  directly  from  the plug­in  interface. This manual  can also be downloaded 

from our website on the product page.

Requirements

Below you will find the minimum requirements for running Oru.

Windows

•  1,8 GHz or higher with SSE2.

•  2GB RAM or higher.

•  Microsoft® Windows® 10, 8, 7, or Vista™.

•  1280x800 screen resolution or higher with 32 bit color.

•  VST™ 2 or VST™ 3 compatible host.

•  Audio interface with ASIO driver support recommended and minimum

   44kHz samples rates.

•  To use the automation a Host with automation features and for MIDI

    learn a MIDI interface and an external MIDI control device is required.

macOS

•  Intel CPU.

•  2GB RAM or higher.

•  macOS 10.7 and latter.

•  1280x800 screen resolution or higher with 32 bit color.

•  Audio Unit, VST™ 2 or VST™ 3 compatible host.

•  CoreAudio compliant audio interface or built­in audio hardware.

•  To use the automation a Host with automation features and for MIDI

    learn a MIDI interface and an external MIDI control device is required.

Upgrading From an Earlier Version 

If you are upgrading from an earlier version there are some important things 

to remember before installing the upgrade: 

From version 1.x

•  Uninstall the previous version before installing the upgrade.

Windows: Our  un­installer  keep  your  system  clean,  all 

the  files  are deleted and  there are no entry  left  in  your 

Windows registry.

Running the Installer

1. Locate the file called "Oru Installer.exe" on Windows, "Oru Installer.pkg" 

on macOS and double­click it.

2.  Follow  the  on­screen  instructions.  You  will  be  asked  to  choose  the 

desired plug­in formats and an install location.

3. Run your host software and  load Oru. Consult your host documentation 

for information on how to do this.

Trial version

The  trial  version  gives  you  full  functionality,  but  the  sound  stop  after  20 

minutes, a nag­screen will pop at the start and at the time limit.

To avoid this restrictions, you will need to purchase the full version. You can 

buy a license at http://tekit­audio.com/shop/.

If  you  have  purchased  your  product  from  a  third  party  seller,  you  can

What is a wavefolding distortion?

Wavefolding  is  a  type  of  distortion  where  the  input  amplitude  peaks  get 

inverted  into a series of  folds when they exceeds a threshold. This type of 

distortion  is  well  suited  to  use  on  synthesizer  sounds  and  other  simple 

sounds.

Oru

Oru  can  be  used  on  a  stereo  or  mono  track  as  an  insert  effect  or  as 

send/return effect.

Control Types

While using Oru, you will find that many parameters have similar controls. 

Switch

A two position switch, click on it to change the position.

Popup Menu

Appears  on  a  left  click  on  a  text  or  an  icon  to  select  a 

value.

Knob

To Turn a knob, click  it and when drag upwards  to move 

the knob to the right, drag downwards to move the knob to 

the  left.  For  hight  precision  control  use  Ctrl+Mouse. 

Double­click on it, reset it to the initial value of the preset.

Preset Change

Change  the  current  preset,  left  to  previous  and  right  to  next. 

Alternatively you can also use the Mouse Wheel.

Current Preset Name

Display  the  number  and  name  of  the  current  preset.  Right­click 

on it to rename the preset. Press Enter to validate.

Preset Manager

Save Preset

Save the current preset in a file.

Save Bank

Save the bank of presets in a file.

Load Preset

Load a preset on the current preset.

Load Bank

Load a bank of presets.

Manage Preset And Bank

Open the preset manager popup menu.

Preset Selector

Display  a  pop­up menu with  all  the  presets  in  the  current  bank. 

Click on one to select it as the current preset.

Save

Save all the parameters state to the current preset.

Undo All

Undo  all  changes  and  restore  the  current  preset  to  his  initial 

state.

Controls

Folds

Sets the amount of  folding applied to  the  input sound from 0 to 100%, the 

more you turn up the more your sound will get distorted.

Bias

This  shifts  the  center  point  of  the  input  signal  to  change  the  color  of  the 

distortion. You get a positive bias at right and a negative one at  left. Using 

this you can apply more distortion to the positive part of the signal than the 

negative and vice versa. A small changes can dramatically alter  the sound 

so use it with caution.

Post Gain

Control  the  distortion  output  gain  of  the  wet  signal  from  ­  30dB  to  8dB 

before the mixing stage.

Mix

Mix the dry and wet signal. At full top only the wet signal pass (the effect) at 

the full bottom only the dry signal pass (the original sound).

Stage x2

Add a second distortion stage to the processing to get more grit.

Limit

Activate  the  gain  stage  clipper. This  protect  from sound peak and  can be 

used as a distortion effect if you drive it with the gain knob.

Auto Gain

Handle  automatically  the  Post  Gain  to  keep  the  distortion  under  control. 

Once activated the post gain keep the same level as the input and the post 

gain knob became inactive.

Bypass

Bypass all the internal processing. The sound out is the same as the sound 

in, leaving the sound unaltered.
