INTRODUCTION
RedTacton is a new Human Area networkingtechnology that uses the surface of thehuman body as a safe, high speed network
transmission path. RedTacton uses theminute electric field generated by humanbody as medium for transmitting the data.

INTRODUCTION
Technology is making many things easier.
Red Tacton is a new H U M A N A R E AN E T W O R K technology.
It gives us safe and high speed networktransmission.

INTRODUCTION
The name chosen for this technology is derived fromTacton meaning Action triggered by touchingcombined with red, which in Japanese culture isanauspicious color with connotations of warmth and
love, to convey the cordiality and warmth ofinterpersonal communications.
A transmission path is formed at the moment a part ofthe human body comes in contact with a
TRANSCEIVER = Transmitter + Receiver

HISTORY
Redtacton is a technology developed byJapanese company Nippon telephonictelegraphic(NTT), which claims it can send
data over the surface of the skin at speedupto 10 Mbps-Equivalently to a fast broad banddata connection.
Redtacton takes a different technical approach.Instead of relying on electromagnetic waves tocarry data, Redtacton uses weak electric fieldson the surface of the body as a transmission
medium.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
For communication terminals should be carried bythe user or embedded in devices. It is a Duplexcommunication. RedTacton uses SUPER
SENSETIVE PHOTONICelectric field sensor. Thebody surfaces may be any of our parts like hands ,fingers , arms , face , feet ,legs.
Red Tacton relies upon the principle that the optical
properties of an ELECTRO-OPTIC CRYSTALcan vary according to the changes of a WEAK
ELECTRIC FIELD.

FUNCTIONING

10/37
1. The RedTacton transmitter induces a weak electric field
on the surface of the body.
2. The RedTacton receiver senses changes in the weakelectric field on the surface of the body caused by thetransmitter.
3. RedTacton relies upon the principle that the optical
properties of an ELECTRO-OPTIC CRYSTAL canvary according to the changes of a WEAK ELECTRICFIELD.
4. RedTacton detects changes in the optical properties ofan electro-optic crystal using a LASER and convertsthe result to an ELECTRICAL SIGNAL in a OPTICALRECEIVER CIRCUIT.
Note that RedTacton transceivers which integrate
transmitters and receivers are also available.

MECHANISM
The transmitter sends data by inducingfluctuations in the minute electric field on thesurface of the human body. Data is received
using a photonic electric field sensor thatcombines an electro-optic crystal and a laserlight to detect fluctuations in the minute electricfield.
The photonic electric field sensor developed byNTT enables weak electric fields to bemeasured by detecting changes in the opticalproperties of an electro-optic crystal with a laser
beam.

HUMAN AREA NETWORK
Human Area Network is an important over current wireless technologiessuch as Bluetooth because users can narrowly limit signal recipientsrather than broadcasting to all devices within given range. Using RedTacton enabled devices music from our digital audio player in our pocketwould pass through our clothing and shoot over our body
to headphones into our ears. Instead of fiddling around with the cable toconnect our digital camera to our computer we could transfer picturesjust by touching the PC while the camera is around your neck and sincedata can pass from one body to another you could also exchangeelectronics business cards by shaking hands.
In addition to the WANs (Internet) and LANs, there are applications best
served by Human Area Networks (HANs) that connect the last meter Human society is entering an era of ubiquitous computing, where
everything is networked.

HUMAN AREA NETWORK
In the world of computers, networking is the practice oflinking two or more computing devices together for thepurpose of sharing data. RedTacton enables the firstpractical Human Area Network between body-centeredelectronic devices and PCs or other network devices
embedded in the environment via a new generation ofuser interface based on totally natural human actionssuch as touching, holding, sitting, walking, or stepping ona particular spot.
Multiple transceivers can be used simultaneously. This is
because RedTacton uses a proprietary CSMA/CD (CarrierSense Multiple Access with Collision Detection) protocolthat allows multiple access with the same medium frommultiple nodes

BROADBAND & INTERACTIVE
Duplex, interactive communication is possible at a maximumspeed of 10Mbps*. Because the transmission path is on thesurface of the body, transmission speed does notdeteriorate in congested areas where many people are
communicating at the same time.
drivers can be downloaded instantly and execute programs
can be sent.
Communication speed candeteriorate in crowded spaces
due to a lack of bandwidth
(wireless LAN)
Device drivers can be downloadedinstantly and executable
programs can be quickly
sent.(RED TACTON)

ANY MEDIA
In addition to the human body, various conductors and dielectricscan be used as transmission media. Conductors and dielectrics mayalso be used in combination
signals travel along the surfaces of materials
-signals pass through materials.
-combinations of travel along and passing through materials

ADVANTAGES
Data transfer is faster and easier through thistechnology
Data loss during transfer is less
Use of minimum amount of power(of some milli voltrange)
Security is more

DRAWBACKS
It has no compelling applications that arent already
available
Too costly
It can be useful within few centimeters only Higher level of technology is still in development
stage which can avoid problems while transmittingdata in full duplex systems
No fix parameters of electric field to be used arecertainly confirmed

CONCLUSION
We conclude that, when we compare Red Tacton with othertechnology present today it can give a better performanceover others
And we can say that to connect the network with in short
distances Red Tacton is best.
In this technology there is no problem of hackers as our
body is itself a media.

MY OPINION
I am with Red Tacton technology.
The technology will be more powerfull if TACTONCOMBINES WITH HAPTICS and GESTURETECHNOLOGY.
HAPTICS is a technology through which we can touch thevirtual world.
GESTURE TECHNOLOGY is all about equipments workingon your gesture.
So friends just imagine how we can communicate andvisualise the virtual world with real world
