Most useful source of e-learning material is the Internet *
BUT …five BIG problems for teachers…
No time - to find the best authentic material
No time - to create valid learning experiences
No time - for additional marking
Issues over open Internet access
Confidence in the use of ICT to teach the curriculum
Solve these and the Internet becomes a great learning resource
Challenges faced by Teachers

• The “Three Year” Cycle Schools can take 3 years to integrate new technology into their teaching practice
Year 1 – technically understand Year 2 – part of the planning process Year 3 – part of the teaching practice
• Teachers want “in-school” training With limited staff &/or Training days creates delays before use
• Personalised Learning requires quality data to track & report progress of individual students requires integration with school MIS systems &/or single user login which need to be accurate
Issues (1)
![Page 21: Taecanet - Sloan C Presentation](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022070320/5586635ad8b42ae5588b475a/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
• Impact of Learning Platforms Teachers are being asked to spend time creating new resources to support teaching & learning &/or loading existing lesson materials into the Learning Platforms. Increased support & training needed.
• Repositories of Learning Objects Significant efforts going into their creation but do all teachers have the skills & time to turn these into lesson resources?
• Rights Clearance If teachers want to reuse internet based resources as part of their teaching & learning how can this be managed in a legal & cost effective way?
Issues (2)
![Page 22: Taecanet - Sloan C Presentation](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022070320/5586635ad8b42ae5588b475a/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
Conclusions & Next Steps

• Knowledge Network – “work-in-progress” In the last 3 years over 200 teachers have contributed
Shared Knowledge through Learning Journeys Saved teachers time Engaged students through 1.6m Learning Journeys Increased exam results
• Teacher / Student generated content Teachers & students want access to tools to create new &/or modify existing resources
• Extension of Assessment & Mentoring/Tutoring To increase the delivery of personalised learning more work needs to be done in creating feedback loops in these areas.
• Extension to support Home & International Learning Support for individuals learning at home & other curriculums
Conclusions & Next Steps
•
