And he enjoys encouraging young people to do the same in his graffiti workshops. “Everything always begins on paper,” he said. “I show how I structure letters, taking elements of how signwriters work). Let Andy show you the tricks of the trade like adding 3D onto letters, looking at light perspective and adding characters to one of his exceptional murals at Venue Cymru.

Around the themes of the best new play winner
One Man Two Guvnors The National Theatre will
be offering a practical workshop to explore the
roots of Commedia dell’Arte using improvisation,
physical theatre and storytelling Commedia dell’arte is shortened from ‘commedia
dell’arte all’improviso’, meaning ‘comedy through the art/craft of improvisation’, but also translates
as ‘comedy of the guild’; One Man, Two Guvnors is an adaptation of The Servant of Two Masters.
Richard Bean, the playwright, has altered the names of characters, relocated the geographical
setting, and changed various plotting points, but the play is still recognisably based upon Goldoni’s
original. The production incorporates elements of variety, music hall, pantomime, standup comedy,
and end-of-the-pier shows; all of which, in varying degrees, owe something to the
genre of commedia. Commedia has its origins in improvisation and this has been
retained in One Man Two Guvnors when the central character, Francis, interacts with
the audience. By getting audience members on to stage to help him move the trunk,
or asking them for suggestions on where he should take Dolly on their first date,
the production is combining traditional commedia with twentieth century comedy.
One Man Two Guvnors is at Venue Cymru from Wednesday 2nd -
Saturday 5th January 2013. Workshop attendees can have tickets
for the show for just £10 each.

Workshop Space Meeting Room 2
Mathew first ventured into the Music Business at the tender age of 11 when he first picked up a pair
of drumsticks, after his Father insisted that he learn to read music, he grudgingly set about the
laborious task of learning his new trade, not sat at a drum kit, but sat at a table learning Musical theory
from a book! However once he had proved his ability to read music his Father bought him his first
drum kit. From that day onwards he began his love affair with the drums. From taking this method
Mathew has been taken on many a musical journey that he could never have managed without the
firm theoretical foundations. Mathew has gone on to perform professionally with his talent, as well as
teaching when ever he finds the time - his students cannot speak highly enough of ‘Matty’ and the fun
they have in his sessions. Mathew teaches the drums for Yamaha music as well as touring throughout
the country with his remarkable singing voice. Mathew will be running drumming sessions for just 5
people at a time so booking is highly recommended.
