Continue to Progresso Beach for a dip into the Gulf of Mexico! Return to Mérida for free time to shop or explore on your own. Afternoon buggy ride around the city, before din-ner in a Yucatecan- style restau-rant.

Day 3: Mérida - UxmalToday's full day excursion takes you to the ancient Mayan city of Uxmal, in the heart of the Yucatan. Tour Uxmal, parts of which date back to the 6th cen-tury, and see the Magician's Pyra-mid, the Nunnery Quadrangle and more. Enjoy a Sound and Light Show before returning to Mérida.

Day 4: Mérida - Chichen Itza - Cenote Ikkil - ValladolidMorning departure to the most famous site in the Yucatan Pen-insula - Chichen Itza, where you will see the fusion of the different architectural styles which reflect the different cultures. Among the highlights are the Pyramid of El Castillo, the Temple of the War-

riors, the Pelota Courts, the Sacri-ficial Well, and other archaeolog-ical treasures. Stop at the Cenote Ik-Kil, fascinating underwater caves located in a cavern. On to quaint Valladolid for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Valladolid - Tulum - Playa del CarmenMorning departure to Tulum, the famous Mayan harbour, perched atop a cliff, overlooking tourquoise waters and pristine beaches. See the El Castillo Pyra-mid, the Temple of the Frescoes, The Temple of the Descending Gods, and more. Continue to Playa del Carmen for dinner and overnight.
