The mission of the Puerto Rico Seismic Network (PRSN) is tomonitor and rapidly determine the location and size of allearthquakes and support NWS/TWC to determine the Tsunamialert level in the Area of Responsibility (AOR) and toimmediately disseminate this information to concernedagencies, scientists, and the general public. The PRSN compilesand maintains an extensive seismic database of earthquakeparameters, continuous waveforms (earthquakes, GPS and sealevel) and their effects which serve as a solid foundation forbasic and applied earth science/oceanography research inPuerto Rico and the Caribbean.
