ON EVERY OTHER DAYOn Sundays we ride and test our products on race tracks across the globe, every other day we are here designing and manufacturing Talon products in our own factory in England. Our products are born out of our experience on the track which has highlighted need for something better.

In 2013 Talon Engineering will be celebrating 40 years in business. It has grown from humble beginnings in a small, shared factory, into the global market leader it is today.

George Sartin started the company late in 1972, working part time at first, before going full time in 1973. A time served toolmaker, George was made redundant from Westland Helicopters in 1970 and, before the advent of Talon, even had a spell as a freezer salesman in Bristol !

Having begun an interest in motorbikes watching Grass Track racing as a young boy, George was to become great friends with the Grass Track ‘legend’, Lew Coffin. Following a period as a mechanic for Coffin, George was asked to make hubs for his bikes – the rest is history…

After increasing success manufacturing Grass Track and Speedway hubs, the company rapidly expanded hub production to include the motocross market. As well as their renowned hubs and wheels, Talon is also well known in the industry for their sprockets, now covering an enormous range, including road bikes. Alongside their ‘home’ produced products, Talon is the UK importers of the highly regarded Braking products from Italy and Excel rims from Japan. They are also a distributor of RK Chains.

2006 witnessed the start of a new era. After nearly 35 years at the helm, George decided to take a back seat and handed over the reigns to his son, Rob. Talon’s new Managing Director has been with the company for over 20 years himself and has heavily influenced the company’s progression. Rob, a time served engineer himself, brings with him a wealth of experience having enjoyed a highly successful riding career, competing at World championship level in both Trials and Enduro, winning 2 British Junior Trials crowns and a brace of British Enduro titles (the 2nd of which, the year after an accident breaking his neck!)

After 39 years in business, Talon exports to 35 Countries, with distributors in Europe, the United States , Japan and Australia . In excess of 70% of the company’s business is now in the export market.

Talon Engineering has evolved into a thriving success story, now operating from a 40,000 sq foot state of the art workshop, over 20 new CNC machines, with over 50 full time staff.

Rapid prototype machine, Solidworks 3d design, Cad/Cam design and programming, and our own toolmaking facility all go towards making the best products in the world. This quality is highlighted by the fact that there have been in excess of 100 world champions riding with the help of Talon parts.

T3 WHEELSThe Talon T3 wheel was specifically designed as our entry level wheel set, this was achieved by our Patent applied 3 piece hub design that cuts down the raw material costs of the hub.

By using clever design and manufacturing techniques Talon has produced a light weight, high quality, high performance product for an affordable price.

We use high carbon steel spokes and Talon’s own ‘7’ series T3 rim.

Available for Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki and Yamaha.

Talon’s new combination of it’s legendary ‘3’cross billet hub and the latest 7 series ACR rim will bring a new level to the wheel market.

SPROCKETSROAD RACEAs sprocket suppliers to TAS Suzuki we have won numerous Isle of Man TT races.

As TAS Suzuki expanded to take on the British Super Bike series (BSB) we have also won BSB races in what is the strongest National Championship on the planet.

New for 2012 is Talon’s involvement in Moto 2 as sprocket supplier to the Tech 3 Moto 2 team of Bradley Smith and Xavier Simeon. We relish the prospect of stepping up to the Moto 2 championship and supporting the Tech 3 team with the best road race sprockets in the world.

LOCKSPROCK Talon’s Patent applied Locksprock design uses a completely new way of locking the outer heat treated steel chain ring to the Alloy 7075 T6 inner drive ring.

The name Locksprock came from this design which allows the two components to be fastened together and gives a light weight sprocket that outlasts any Alloy sprocket by at least three times.

RADIALITE Talon’s Radilalite sprocket was first tested by current company Managing Director Rob Sartin back in 1993 and since has won countless World championships in many disciplines and has been produced in huge numbers.

US Supercross legend Jeff Ward has chosen the Talon Radilalite as his sprocket of choice when starting his own team in 2012.

The Radialite is available in many colours to suit your bike or team logo.

STANDARD Talon’s original ‘drilled’ sprocket design is still available for most MotoX, Trial and Enduro bikes and with the emergence of the ‘EVO’ championships (Pre-89 MX bikes) is popular again for the period/Evo riders.

All Talon Alloy sprockets are CNC machined from the top specification 7075 T6 Aluminium to ISO 9001 quality and Guild of Master craftsman standards.

Our internal inspection process ensures hardness, flatness and surface finish are of the highest standard at all times. In excess of 1 million sprockets have been produced and sold worldwide.

Talon produces sprockets for various original equipment factories, Yamaha America under their own GYTR label and of course we supply to our own network of 38 Talon importers worldwide.

FOOTRESTS CLUTCH BASKETSTalon aluminium footrests are lighter and wider (at 58mm) than original equipment footrests. Machined from a single alloy billet the body has a stainless steel mount insert for extra hard wearing toughness. The super wide platform has stainless steel grip pins which are designed to be replaced when worn.

The stainless steel grip pins give great rider feel, grip and comfort during the hardest moto or

longest enduro.

Talon clutch baskets are machined from a single aircraft spec 7075 T6 billet alloy.

Careful design and machining gives a lightweight basket with excellent strength for a dependable smooth clutch action.

Talon clutch baskets are hard anodised and PTFE impregnated to ensure maximum life in the hardest conditions.

CLUTCH BASKETS PRELOADERS FRONT SPROCKETSTalon’s patent applied Preloaders are designed to make rear shock preload adjustment quicker, easier and more precise than the original locking rings.

Each movement on the Preloader is the equivalent to one 360 degree turn on the O.E.M locking ring.

Available for most modern MX/ Enduro models.
