Members and Friends– Promote Western-Style Square Dancing and

Round Dancing– Aid and Encourage new Callers & Cuers

• Square Dancing is the National Dance form of the United States, and the Official Louisiana State Country Dance.

• History– Founded in 1962.– Incorporated as non-profit in Louisiana. – Continuously dancing in Slidell area from 1962

to today.– Initially used public facilities (city recreation

hall or school cafeterias)– In 1990, club purchased property on Home

Estates Drive in Western Slidell

• Clubhouse and Dancehall– One of the finest Square and Round Dance

facilities in the country– Wooden dance floor– 15 tons of air conditioning– Built-in sound system– Basic kitchen facilities– TV room for small children– “Recycle Shop” (square dance attire)– Storage etc.
