Cable Cast OnHold work in left hand and empty needle in right hand. *Insert right needle between the first 2 stitches on left needle. Wrap yarn over right needle as if to knit. Bring yarn between stitches on left needle, forming a loop on right needle. Place this loop on left needle, forming a new stitch. Repeat from * until required number of stitches are cast on.

Sloped Bind OffLast row before bind off: Work to last stitch, leave unworked, turn to begin bind-off row.Bind-off Row: With unworked stitch from previous row on right-hand needle, slip next stitch purlwise and pass unworked stitch over slipped stitch - 1 stitch bound off. Work 1 stitch and pass stitch on right-hand needle over stitch just worked - 1 stitch bound off.Repeat from * until desired number of stitches are bound off.

Yarnover TipA yarnover followed by a purl stitch can result in an eyelet that's larger than desired. One solution is to omit the yarnover when it's called for. On the next row, where one would have knitted or purled into the yarnover, pick up the strand of yarn between the 2 needles (between 2 stitches) and knit or purl into it instead. The result is as if a tiny yarnover had been made initially and then worked.
