Welcome to every government entity procurement professional including city, county, higher

education, state agencies, etc. At 12/6/16 Holiday Lunch 2017 TAPP Plans were announced including

Keep TAPP acronym & change name; Minimum goal:  double TAPP membership; Procurement

Resources blog or FAQs posted online; and Develop TAPP (TX Association of Public Purchasers)

sponsorship program.

Currently, progress on 2017 TAPP plans are:

A. Keep TAPP acronym & change name – welcomes contract specialists, but currently await NIGP

approval of TAPP’s request.

B. Goal:  Min is double TAPP membership – often government entities have more contract specialists

than purchasers, but pending TAPP name change hinders this goal.

C. Procurement Resources – revised name “Procurement FAQs”

D. Develop sponsorship program – TAPP members to attend NIGP courses pends action after TAPP

completes required NIGP reports.

Let’s make 2017 great year for TAPP by participation: in Monthly Professional

Development/General meetings; NIGP &/or TAPP training; and volunteer for TAPP Committees &/or

community service events. Reminder:  go to https://www.austinontapp.org/index.cfm often for TAPP

news and updates.
