Star Image Presentation

Task 2

Page 2: Task 2

Name- White Noise, we felt as a group this would be the right band name as it’s a kind of dark and empty name to fit the genre and the potential music video idea.

Genre- The genre should fit into Brit / indie rock for the potential audience to appreciate the video, song and marketing.

Type of Act- The act will feature 4 or 5 members with the main focus being on the singer, originally we wanted to add more character to the rest of the band so we included a girl drummer but we then scrapped the idea as we felt it would take the attention away from the main singer.

Star Image- After discussing the kind of act and the people or band mates in it, we decided to go for an ordinary rock/indie band look with the strong connotations to show that the band is British, with the band mates wearing heavy parka coats etc. With the singer taking the star image.

Target Audience- The target audience will be setting out to fit mainly males aged 16-25.

Choice Of Track- The track will be ‘Like Eating Glass’. We all as a group liked this song and saw that a video had never be released as it wasn’t a single, but it was still a well known song with lots of dark emotions, feelings of loneliness and depression, so we felt like we could fit these in with the video.

Page 5: Task 2

The band strive to stay mysterious in order that too much isn't revealed about the star in order for fans to maintain interest, this can be shown through a slight lack in emotions, being either to positive or to negative.

‘‘Dependent upon a range of subsidiary

media, magazines, TV, radio, the internet in order to construct an image for themselves which can be marketed to their target audiences.

(Top) shows the rough designs of the front and back album cover.

(Left) main inspiration for front cover. The Strokes debut album. We chose this as our inspiration they fit most of the groups that we would fit our band into

Page 7: Task 2

Through the album covers it gives the band an image that the purchaser thinks about when listening to the music, in this case we wanted to keep the design similar to the design of the music video, with the black and white, ‘torn’ look to give

the band more of a experienced look.
