Front Cover
Typography
The font styles used are mostly Sans Serif, this font style shows
modern elements which is conventional for the target audience.
The bold text draws the reader to the important parts such as the
masthead and coverlines. This dictates where the audience
should look first. The name 'Alexandra' is in Black and written in a
larger Serif font. This is one of the only parts of text in black, this
is because the main article is about her, so therefore they want
her name to stand out on the magazine. This attracts a larger
audience, as people who like this artist may buy the magazine to
discover similar artists.
Colour
The main colours used are pink and yellow. Pink connotes femininity, this is conventional as
the magazine is female leaning. The yellow stands out against the pink, this draws the
reader towards an important parts of the magazine or article such as the word 'EXPOSED' in
the quote 'snogging stars exposed'. The use of the word exposed makes the article sound
more dramatic and interesting. The colour scheme is conventional as it is girly and clearly
outlines stand out articles and phrases, and the target audience is mainly young female
based so would be more likely to buy the magazine if associated with a young and feminine colour like pink.

This magazine has a cluttered layout to make it look more
appealing to the younger target audience, because it is
filled with exciting articles. The route of the eye is used,
drawing the audience across the masthead, for them to
recognise the magazine, through the main cover artist to
encourage readers to buy the magazine, and then across
the bottom through the other exciting articles and
competitions, which encourages a wider target audience.
