The fire, of unknown origin brokeout on the third floor at 10:40 a, m.on Saturday. Firemen had the blazeunder control within 45 minutes butnot before it had made six familieshomeless, caused six firemen to beovercome with smoke and resultedin one fireman being injured byfiling glass.-

suffered burns when a fire destroyedthe home of a physician last Fridayafternoon. Fire burned to theground the home of Dr. RichardBodkin at 285 Cedar Avenue. Bod-,kin's eight-month-old son and one-year-old Susan Ramalho, a neigh-bor's cliild, received second- degreeburns. Another of the doctor'schildren', Richard , five, was fearedlost in the fire, but he turned upat a neighbor's house an hour later.

An 18 year-old Bayport sailor ivasarrested last Thursday after beingAWOL from the fleet training cen-ter in /Rhode Island since October18th. The youth, Harrison K. Wor-thingtori, of Third Avenue, Bayport,was arrested by lslip Town Policeafter they had been notified byNavy officials.
