On her way home, she sees an empty flower pot on her neighbors porch and places the seed packet in the pot. The once quiet neighborhood begins doing kind things for one another. This book teaches children how one action can have a great impact. 8

Mom for Mayor was Nancys first published chapter book, in 2006. This childrens novel is about Eric Clark, a fifth grade student who becomes very distraught when he discovers that the mayor wants to sell the neighborhood park. Eric has quite the imagination and partners with his smart friend, Jonathon, to convince Erics mother to run for mayor in hopes of saving the park. Eric is very organized in managing his mothers campaign. In the meantime, a new park is created that is close to home. Sadly, his mother is only elected into city council but Eric is still proud. 9
