What a Teacher Does
Facilitates learning by setting up safe, supportive learning environments.
Promotes academic achievement Sets up guidelines and avenues for students to
obtain the information they need to know Tends to talk more than listen
The teacher’s goal should be stimulate focused discussion/dialog
Assesses student proficiency level and awards accordingly

Is qualified by life experience Is objective Is skilled at motivating behavior change Is skilled in questioning strategies Does mind asking the tough questions Cares about the self-esteem AND perspective of the coachee Knows how to give constructive feedback Can assess situations quickly and respond with appropriate
