In consideration of the wish to come to a free academic exchange and taking into account the

importance attached to the internationalization of academic education at European level, the

Faculty of Theatre and Television, Hungarian Theatre Department of Universitatea

Babeg-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca and the Academy of Arts of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer

University of Osijek agree to develop their bitateral relationship in order to strengthen their

teaching and research capacities, with the conviction that it represents the best mechanism for

furthering knowledge in both institutions to mutual benefit.

This agreement does not annihilate the validity of the agreements which are curre,ntly valid and

in force with the partner-faculties.

The following has been agreed between the Faculty of Theatre and Television, Hungarian

Theatre Department of Unviersitatea Babeg-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca represented by dr. Bod6

A. Ott6, head of department, and the Academy of Arts of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer

University of Osijek represented by prof. dr. sc. Helena Sablid Tomi6, dean.

The aim of the cooperation is:

to strengthen and to develop the scientific contacts between our two faculties;

to promote interests in teaching and research activities of our countries;

to make scientific knowledge available to profit and non-profrt orgaruzations in a changing

social context in our countries, based on academic research and professional vocational

training;

to advance the understanding of the ..orro[i", social, and cultural issues and traditions of

our parties.

To achieve these goals, the Faculty of Theatre and Television, Hungarian Theatre

Department of Universitatea Babeg-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca and the Academy of Arts of

the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek agree to further cxplore the specific

manner by which the respective parties may: i

r promote institutional exchanges by inviting teaching staff for teaching assignments,

lectures, and/or research activities;

ca:ry out commonlypursued MA and Ph.D. programs;

carry out curricular development and common research programs in the framework of EU

projects or other national or international fundings;

student exchange and teaching staff mobility;

exchange information concerning the development of teaching and research in each

country, involving publications, scientific issues, periodicals;

cooperate with profit and non-profit organizations in the respective countries involved.

III.While this agreement does not commit either party to financial outlay, both parties

will seek funding to support activities developed under this agreement.

IV. The international relations offices of each university will supervise the

implementation of this agreement.

The agreement comes into force upon the signing thereof by the Deans of the two faculties.

This agreement is valid for 5 (five) years, unless either party requests the cancellation of the

agreement no later than 6 (six) months before the end of the calendar year.

The Rector of Universitatea Babeg-Bolyai of Cluj-Napoca and the Rector of the Josip Juraj

Strossmayer University will evaluate the effectiveness of this cooperation annually.
