    What is it?

    Technical File is a record containing all details ofoperating parameters, including components andsettings of an engine that may influence its NOxemissions and continued compliance

    Most engines installed after January 1st 2000 haveTechnical Files that must be kept up to date

    societies (USCG, TC, ABS, LR) to verify compliance

    Affects IAPP certification

    The shipowner is responsible for maintaining theTechnical File and having it available for surveyor auditon demand

    5) Flywheel marking aligned with dead center indicator

    Recommendations

    Retain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work and partspurchases for each engine

    Follow the published engine maintenance recommendations. Workwith your Cat or MaK dealer on any considered changes to avoid

    under/over - repair

    Avoid non-OEM parts and repair facilities

    Do not change any engine operational settings or modify any

    Keep the on-board Technical File current and retain a shore-side copy

    Maintain the engine charge-air cooler in accordance with the followingarticle
