Background

Ted Bundy was born on November 24, 1946.

He lived in Burlington Vermont when he was born.

His original name was Theodore Robert Cowell.

Ted Bundy was his mothers secret. She was twenty-two years old when she had her son. This was a scandal because of her religious parents and she was not married.

She told everyone her child was her brother.

Her mother moved to Tacoma Washington with him.

Bundy grew up in a relatively normal home with his mother and new husband, Johnnie Bundy.

Bundy was a shy child but a bright child who did well in school.

He did not get along well with his peers. As a teenager, he used to look in peoples windows. He also used to steal as a child.

He graduated from University of Washington with a degree in psychology in 1972.

He also got accepted to law school.

Evidence

Bite marks on one of the dead bodies was a match for Bundy.

He was in the area where women disappeared in 1975 as shown by his credit card statements.

Bundy was identified by witnesses at the dorm of Kimberly Leach’s school.

Handcuffs were found in his car.

In the murder of the Chi Omega Students, Bundy was identified by a resident returning home to the sorority house. He had a club in his hand and was leaving.

Punishment

Ted Bundy was executed by electric chair on January 24, 1989. at Florida State Prison, Bradford County, Florida.

Deviant and criminal behavior

The behavior that best explains my criminals deviant behavior would be the Social Control Theory. This Theory shows that people who commit crimes do so when social bonds are weakened. Ted Bundy had weakened bonds with his family by being told his sister was his mother. When he was told the bonds he thought to be true were a lie, this had to be devastating to him. He also had trouble relating and friending the people in his college. He did not have a strong social figure in his life.

Ted Bundy also approached women in public and wanted to over power them and exert control over them. He assaulted them in secluded locations. Also, he had a lot of anger issues that caused the criminal behavior. There were many problems in his social life. He was very shy as a child. Also, he had a lot of social problems relating to people his age. This is the criminal behavior Ted Bundy has done to this world.
