ted speech nathalie hernandez
TRANSCRIPT
• CEO at Digital
Domain and Mothership
Media.
• He executive-produced
the Academy Award-
winning visual effects
for the Curious Case of
Benjamin Button,
Titanic, Tron: Legacy,
Fight Club, and others.
• Ulbrich has worked on
several music videos
and more than 500
commercials
Ulbrich explains how
they found a new
technology that allowed
his team to blur the line
between digital creation,
and actor for the motion
picture the Curious Case
of Benjamin Button.
Ulbrich followed very
well the advice from
Reynolds to use “less as
more”. Even more, he
avoided Bulleted slides.
He used very few words on
his slides and relied more
on high quality pictures, and
videos.
He also follows Duarte’s tip
of story telling by sharing
stories of his research.
I learned to keep your
audience entertained by
using comedy or sharing a
lot of examples.
It is important to be clear in
your information, and
confident when you talk so
people understand your
speech.
Always be creative, and
don’t be afraid of trying
something new.
They kept a strong eye contact,
and confident voice tone.
They Kept their audience engaged
on their own ways, and both were
very passionate about their topics
Mr. Robinson’s speech had a
different motive than Ulbrich’s
because he wanted to convince
people to make a decision, while
Ulbrich was only informative.
Robinson used more hand gestures
and comedy.
Ulbrich was all about pictures and
videos.
• KEEP THINGS SIMPLE.
Images tell more than
words.
• Prepare for your
presentation. Give a lot
of examples.
• Use very short videos
• Make a strong
appearance on stage (
good voice, eye contact).
