ast December the managers of GM, Mrs. Angela Gutierrez (Global Europe Purchasing Manager) and Mr. Francisco Sanchez (Supplier Quality Manager) awarded Teknia Barcelona the prize highlighting its work in innovative technology, superior quality, crisis management, on-time deliveries, competitiveness and total-cost solutions of the company.
Teknia Barcelona supplies bar cutting parts, ball joints and bushings for General Motors plants worldwide.
The members of Teknia who received, on behalf of the entire Teknia BARCELONA team, were: Mr. Manuel Moreno (Director General TB), Vicenc Serra (Quality Manager TB), Matthew Tallon (Sales Manager for GM at TB) and Mr. Juan Antonio Rendón (Director of the Machining Division).
The award received is the result of the effort of the whole team and we must stay on the same line for future recognitions. Thanks to everybody

I n line with the strategic plan of the Metal division, and specifically with the reinforcement of tubular sales in engines components for Teknia Elorrio, this plant has obtained the first mass production nominations of two customers that are considered strategic:
- Volkswagen, with the awarding of a cooling tube for the light commercial vehicle, Crafter.
- Visteon, with the awarding of a compressor tube included in two new BMW and VW models.
It is hoped with both customers that these first nominations will be the key to future collaborations intended to strategically reinforce the area of engine tubes for the plant, especially with OEMs.
We would like to congratulate the team at the Elorrio plant who, together with the Teknia Germany office have worked painstakingly on the relations with these new customers, offering competitive prices and being able to achieve the certification of their facilities, which includes the comply with the strict requirements in order to be included in the supplier panel of both customers

n order to reinforce the Mexico Engineering and Sales department at Teknia Mexico - San Luis Potosi plant, last week we had the incorporation to the team of Aitor Ortubay, an industrial engineer born in Vitoria, España.
Aitor has undertaken his professional career up to now with a strong international vocation, with development in Romania, India and Mexico. Despite his youthfulness Aitor is experienced in the aeronautical and automotive sectors, and will be a vital support for the sharp growth of Teknia San Luis Potosi over the coming months.
With the current portfolio of projects, the SLP plant will increase its sales by four, exceeding the 10 million euros turnover in 2018.

n 2015 the competition team sponsored by Teknia is changing category. We will be competing in a motorcycle team, which will debut in this type of competition this year.
They have already completed two test days in Jerez, where a fall on Saturday morning limited the number of tests to carry out, but did not prevent the bike from being set up.
The team will compete in the Northern Speed Championship, in A600 category, which includes the federations of Aragón, Navarra, Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias and Castilla y León. There are a total of 4 races in the championship: 27-28 June 2015 Los Arcos circuit (Navarra), 25-26 July 2015 Motorland circuit (Teruel), 5-6 September 2015 Motorland circuit (Teruel), 17-18 October 2015 Los Arcos circuit (Navarra).

In total, there are plans to buy in Europe approximately 140 tns, already identified between carbon steel and stainless steel, as foreseen on total savings in purchasing raw materials of 15% (150,000 € / year) net
