Ten Top Presentation Tips
These are based on tips that I have picked up over the years and tips picked up from Roy Sheppard the excellent conference
facilitator and speaker.
• Preparation, Preparation, Preparation• What is the purpose of most presentations? To
share information (wrong!). The purpose is to get the audience to want to know more!
• Grab the audience’s attention early on with an insightful statement, get them interested at the beginning – make it relevant
• Know your audience• I think making it personal can help you engage
at an emotional level• Know your key messages, what are the benefits
to the audience in listening to you?• A brief summary at the end works well and a ‘call
to action’. Know exactly what you are going to say to leave a lasting impression
• Provide the audience with a link to where they can find out more details or have some information at the front of the room
• Have a look at some TED talks• Number one tip is about your ENERGY levels
during your talk, you can channel your nervous energy
