COACHING QUALIFICATIONS AND PATHWAYS
LEVEL 1 ASSISTANT PASSED
Starting point for all 3 day course and for 16+. 3hrs of coaching experience organised. *Exemptions apply
LEVEL 2 COACHING ASSISTANT
Coaching assistants wanting to improve their coaching skills
5 day course. 4hrs of coaching experience between days 2&3 and 4&5. *Exemptions apply
LEVEL 3 COACH
For coach assistants who want to become full time coaches
13 day course – 4 modules of 3 days and 1 assessment day. 9hrs of coaching between modules with accredited/ accredited+ coach. Should be regularly coaching and have necessary coach experience. Committed to coaching and L2 tutor recommended.

LEVEL 4 SENIOR CLUB COACH
Designed for coaches who are managing a programme or team of coaches
13 day course – 5 modules of 3 days and 1 assessment day. Coaching experiences agreed with tutor, expect to visit other centres and experience other coaches. Should be only taking course if have a number of years coaching and working full time as a coach

COACHING QUALIFICATIONS DESCRIPTIONS
LEVEL 1 ASSISTANT
This course is the starting point for people who want to get into tennis coaching and become a coaching assistant. It will train people to:n Plan and deliver a structured lesson under the guidance of an accredited coachn Have basic knowledge of tactics, techniques and rules of tennisn Have a full understanding of the structure of Mini Tennis
LEVEL 2 COACHING ASSISTANT
This course is for coaching assistants who want to improve their coaching skills and be able to work with groups of beginners on their own under the umbrella programme of a accredited+ coach.n Plan and deliver a structured lesson using LTA level 2 coach resourcesn Coach groups of beginners using different equipmentn Give advice on tactical and technical improvement for beginners of Mini Tennis
LEVEL 3 COACH
This qualification is for people who want to work full time within the tennis coaching profession. On successful completion of the coach qualification candidates will be able to:n Coach beginners and improvers in groups and as individualsn Understand the basics of business managementn Manage the work of level 1 and 2 coaching assistants
LEVEL 4 SENIOR CLUB COACH LEVEL 4 SENIOR PERFORMANCE COACH
This qualification is aimed at coaches who will either be managing a section of a commercial club or running a team of coaches. On successful completion of the senior club coach qualification coaches will be able to:n Manage a team of coachesn Work effectively from mini tennis red to adult competitionn Understand advanced tactical and technical skills
The level 4 senior performance coach is qualification is for coaches who work full time in a performance environment with 10–14 year old junior national players.

This qualification is for coaches who are or who aspire to work at the very highest level of club coaching.
