From the Principal Thank You to Working Bee Workers

A huge thank you to the hard

-working band of parents and

staff (and some helpful

students) who gave up their

time on Sunday to clean out

our sports shed and prepare

it to be lined during the

holidays. You did a fantastic

job, pitching in to pull out old

shelving, clean up and sort

out the good from the bad. It will make life much easier (and more

hygienic) for next year’s sports shed monitors and for all students

accessing equipment. We will all appreciate a cleaner , brighter and more

organised sports shed!

Student Leaders Speeches This Wednesday

Our Year 5 students will present their speeches this Wednesday at 12pm

in the hall. Students will cast their votes for captains immediately after

the speeches. Parents, carers and supporters are welcome to attend.

Planet Nowra Performances This Friday

Students in

Years 3 & 4 who

have been

involved in the

writing

workshops with

Katia Molina

will perform at

Planet Nowra this Friday evening. They will read their stories to an

audience in a rehearsed performance at the Anglican Church Manse in

Kinghorne St, Nowra at 6pm. Please come along to support them by

participating as the audience. While you are there, view the magnificent

sculptures created by 5/6W students which are on show Friday evening

and Saturday from 12 noon. Everyone is invited to this free event.

School Values Awards

Congratulations to the winners of last week's Froggy draw - Phoebe and Isabella! They were spotted following the school values of safety and responsibility by wearing their hats in the playground.

The focus for this week is to 'show leadership'.

Helpers Morning Tea

A Camel Visits Our School

Last Tuesday my Dad brought a baby camel to school and I led it on the field. It’s name is Molligan and she only has one hump. People were asking lots of questions about Molligan. She is cute but a little bit smelly!

Ice-Cream and Mufti Day On Wednesday, Year 5 and 6 held an Ice-Cream and Mufti Day fundraiser. Three groups of students from 5/6W each went to a different class and served them delicious ice cream cones for $5.

Students had the choice of getting plain ice cream, ice cream with sprinkles and ice cream with chocolate or caramel topping. It got a bit messy but we all managed. We had loads of fun and hope we can do it again. We ended up raising over $400!

Terara Public School 2017 Yearbook Order

This year we are reviving the tradition of producing a Student Yearbook for sale. It contains class photos, individual

photos and a blurb for each student and stories and photos for all major events throughout the year. It makes a great

memento for 2017. Copies will be available for $12.

Please order your copy by this Friday, 8/12/17. Money to be paid before delivery . We are hoping to have it ready to

send home by the end of next week.
