On Mandela Day, Wednesday 18 July, Skillspro head office staff undertook an outreach to the community at Greenspark Primary School, Fochville. It was an awe-some sight, seeing those bright eyes and shiny faces receiving some sweets, a hotdog and a glass of hot chocolate. One of the children, having hot chocolate for the first time, said to her teach-er “Mam, we had some chocolate tea!”

Each participant receives comprehensive reference material for each Unit Standard on CD as well as a POE file, workbook, and assessment instruments. During the workshop learners will prepare a portfolio of evidence to submit for assessment against the unit standard. As soon as the learner is found competent and Future-Teacher has re-ceived endorsement from the ETDP SETA, the necessary certificate will be issued. Continue on p.4

We herewith pay tribute to Mr. Wimpie van der Merwe, principal of Cradock Primary School, who passed away during a horror bus accident on 21 July 2012 together with the CS Fer-reira (age 10).

His dedication to his school and students as well as his support for the Futurekids program for more than 10 years will be missed.

We also want to convey our condolences to the Van der Merwe and Ferreira families,
