GOLD DAY Our final Gold Day for 2012 will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, 12th December. A great day of celebration has been organized to congratulate all students who have continued to be responsible throughout the term. A waterslide has been booked so that groups of students will be provided time across the day to have lots of fun. This is also a great opportunity for classes to have their class parties as part of Gold Day. Students will need to bring swimmers, a towel, hat and dry clothing to change into. Each class has also sent out further information outlining their organization for their class party. 5C Performance “Wijiirrjagi” 5C has been working on a play called “ Wijiirrjagi”, a Gumbaynggirr dreamtime story full of excitement, fun, laughs and gags. The play is part of Michael Jarrett’s Aboriginal Language Program and will be presented to Stage 2 and 3 tomorrow, Wednesday, 12th December at 10:30 am. Toilet Upgrade Contractors have commenced work on the upgrade to the primary toilets. This will mean the toilets and the bubblers will not be available for use through to the end of the year. Primary students will need to access the toilets in the hall during this time and we ask that students bring water bottles to school each day. It is a huge inconvenience, however it will be worth it in the long run. Thank you for your support and cooperation. OUR STARS THIS WEEK

“Have-A-Go-Show”

This is the most anticipated assembly on the yearly calendar, and did not fail to entertain. Students from all ages across the school performed a variety of acts that showcased their wonderful talents. The Have A Go Show has such a reputation that we had lots of parents and friends come along to watch the performances. It is just amazing — the musical talent that is being developed at such an early age, from the violin, piano to the cornet. There was an array of dancing, skipping and singing acts on show, with Nicholas Willer taking out first prize for his performance, “What About Me” (also sung by Shannon Noll). Nicholas will perform at our Presentation Day Awards ceremony on Thursday. Jade Anderson was awarded second prize for her wonderful piano playing, while Shonelle Blair received third prize for her rendition of “My Island Home.” Highly Commended went to The Katte Krew for their dancing and acrobatics, and also the Dynamic Duo for their musical talents. Thank you to the courage and enthusiasm of all the acts and also to Lyndall Lynch and Maureen Bird for their time and commitment ensuring that everyone got to have a go. We just love the final result and are eager to see next year’s ensemble.

Christmas from our School Choir The School Choir and the recorder group entertained shoppers at the Foodworks Supermarket and Autumn Lodge today. From all reports, they were just brilliant. They were upbeat, animated and really professional in their

presentation of the popular Christmas carols to “Nuttin’ For Christmas”. Robyn Geerlings and Toni Townend are very talented in producing a quality performance that entertains and showcases the wonderful talent of our

musical students. Thank you to all the students who gave up their playtime to rehearse and present a special Christmas greeting to our community. ~ Mrs Debbie Grenenger (Relieving Principal)
