Dear Parents/Carers

Welcome back to our exis"ng families and welcome to all of our new families. Over-

leaf is a summary of the staff at Bungaree and Peel Language Development Schools

(PLDS). I would like to acknowledge the hard work of Ms Westbrook as Principal and

Mrs Schicker as Associate Principal while I was on leave at the end of 2015. Welcome

to new staff Mr Stevens Year 5/6 teacher, Mr Leach school psychologist, Mrs Robin-

son school chaplain, Ms Weerasinghe (Mrs W) and Ms Murray -teachers from PLDS

and Mrs Tocco educa"on assistant PLDS. We have an amazing staff at Bungaree PS

and look forward to working with you and your children.

Late last year the Minister of Educa"on announced some addi"onal funding to some schools for mainte-

nance and ICT. Bungaree is one of the schools selected. Some of this work will include upgrade to our com-

puter server, increased funding of ICT, repairs to paths and carpe"ng of a number of classrooms.

During the holiday break the basketball court near the music room had drainage put in and part of the

staff/parent car parks were painted. Thankyou for your pa"ence on the remaining work to be completed

in the parent car park such as drainage, installa"on of a concrete path and line marking. With addi"onal

buses using this area we have had to block off some parent parking bays. No parking bays are iden"fied by

orange witches hats. The overflow area has been extended as a result of this. The mee"ng room in the

admin office had new carpet installed with cupboards and pain"ng to be completed by the end of the

term. New student desks/chairs for Rooms 16,15,12,11 and 7 will arrive in the next few weeks.

We have some changes of classroom loca"on this year. PLDS has increased to 4 classrooms. The Confer-

ence Room is now Room 4 PLDS. The Conference Room has been moved to Room 10. The school chaplain

will work out of Room 10 on Wednesday and Thursday this year. Mrs Borlase will be teaching art/drama in

Rooms 13 & 14 while our music teacher Ms Broken is on leave for the year. Mr Burke from the high school

will be working at Bungaree on Wednesdays from 8:30-10:30am with the choir and some instrumental

groups. Mini assembly will be held a4er recess on Wednesdays on alternate weeks to the main assembly.

All wet areas are being used as an extension to the classroom. This means they will not be available for

parent/carer access during the school day in par"cular the wet area outside Rooms 1,2,3. Please use the

footpath around the buildings to enter/exit the school.

P & C mee"ngs will be held in Room 10 with the first mee"ng a4er assembly approx. 9:30am on Tuesday

16th February. Subway lunches will be available on Fridays only. Orders are due to the front office by

Thursday 9am each week. Ordering for Subway will commence next Thursday 11th February.

If your child needs to wait to be picked up in the a4ernoon there are 2 wai"ng areas. One is by the green

shed/oval near the buses (un"l 3pm) the other is at the stage in the old under cover area. Please remind

your child to use these wai"ng areas as students can be seen by staff.
