What GM Reports

• DOE 1605b Voluntary Reporting of GHG Emissions

• GM has reported from the program’s inception in 1995 for U.S. Operations– Facility energy use and electricity purchases– Facility refrigerant use– Vehicle refrigerant factory fill– New Vehicle fuel economy

Climate Change is a Global Issue

• Appropriate reporting should provide improved understanding of global climate issue.

• GM aggregates the facility energy usage and emissions data for U.S. into its annual report to the DOE.

• Separate requirements for state level reporting could impose additional burdens that are not justified.

Concerns about State Level Reporting of GHG Emissions

• GM would be revealing competitive capacity information, especially in those states with only one or two facilities
