8.1.6 Dimension Examination
The dimension examination of the connectors was made by cross mating the connectors. The cable dimensions were measured with a tape measure.

9.2.2 Requirement

After mating and unmating 250 times no visible damage was observed. The connectors pass the durability test. .

9.3.3 Requirements:
There shall be no evidence of blistering, peeling or separation of plating or other damage of the pins, connectors and cable assembly. The cable assembly shall pass the CAT5E standard at the noted temperature.

9.5 Thermal Shock Cycling -55℃ to 85℃ (Test No5)
9.5.1 Test Description
The cable assembly will be subjected to thermal shock cycling per condition 1 of EIA-364-32C standard. The temperatures will cycle from -55℃ to 85℃. The temperatures will be cycled 25 times. Samples being tested are outlined in the schematic (Figure 4). The cable sections are separated from main cable assembly. The cable sections are then placed into the oven in a mated condition (Figure 5).

9.5.2 Requirement
There shall be no evidence of blistering, peeling or separation of plating or other damage of the pins, connectors and cable assembly. The cable assembly shall pass the CAT5E standard, at the room temperature, after the cycling has been completed.
9.5.3 Result
No evidence of blistering, peeling or separation of plating or other damage of the pins, connectors and cable assembly.
9.5.4 Remark / Conclusion

9.6 Thermal Shock Cycling -55℃ to 175℃ (Test No 6)
9.6.1 Test Description
The cable assembly will be subjected to thermal shock cycling per a modified test condition VII of EIA-364-32C standard. Test condition VII, step 3 is 105℃. It is being modified to 175℃ The temperatures will cycle from -55℃ to 175℃. The temperatures will be cycled 25 times. Samples being tested are outlined in the schematic (Figure 4). The cable sections are separated from main cable assembly. The cable sections are then placed into the oven in a mated condition (Figure 5).

9.6.2 Requirement
When tested as specified the connectors shall show no defects detrimental to the operation of the connectors and shall meet the subsequent test requirements. After the thermal cycling, the cable assembly must pass the CAT5E standard at room temperature.

9.7 Random Vibration (Test No 7)
9.7.1 Test Description
Connector Group B will be subjected to random vibration per AS39029/120 (draft). The vibration power denisty is defined per the graph in Figure 6. The connector group B will have support screws in the radial direction. The support screws can be seen in Figure 9. 100% of contacts are wired in series and monitored for discontinuity during the vibration test. Discontinuity is not to exceed 1 microsecond. Monitoring will be done of the entire cable assembly. The connector group B will be tested in the radial direction then it will be tested in the axial direction. During testing in the axial direction the cable will be contrained having a free length of 6” see Figure 9.
